Man critically injured in Wayne County shooting
WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – One man is in critical condition after a shooting Sunday morning in Wayne County.
Kentucky State Police say it happened around 2 a.m. on Frisby Street in Monticello.
Officers believe 56-year-old Tracy Kidd entered a home and startled the homeowner.
The homeowner fired one round towards Kidd and hit him. The homeowner then called 911.
Wayne County EMS says they found 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine on Kidd.

A Florida sheriff responded to the criticism and praise he has received for his viral comments about encouraging citizens to use the kill shot against home invaders.During a press conference in April 2022, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said, “If someone is breaking into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot. We prefer you to do that, actually.” The comments have gone viral again in juxtaposition to a story in New York where a woman was arrested for trying to remove squatters from her property.
Johnson told Fox News Digital in an interview that he stands by his comments and that it’s a “no-brainer.”
“I said [at the press conference] if you shoot accurately, and you kill the guy, you save taxpayers money. And I also said that if somebody gets killed during a home invasion, the odds of them re-offending are zero. And we like those odds, which we do,” he told Fox News Digital.

And one shot? Good aim, and sufficient caliber to get the job done. Mr Homeowner is a GO at this station.

I carry an LCP Max as a backup pocket pistol. When I’m too lazy to strap on something more significant, it’s the primary besides the .38 I keep tucked away in the truck. .380 isn’t known for its extreme stopping power, but it’ll easily drop someone given good shot placement. Whether I’m carrying something larger or not, I’m a firm believer in spare mags, so I usually keep 12+1 in the gun with two 10-round mags on standby. Thirty-three rounds of .380 isn’t bad, and if I’m carrying the Glock 45 or 17, add another 35-52 rounds of 9x19mm.
Then again, back in the day, I carried a Kel-Tec P32 as a backup/EDC pistol. Even 11 rounds of .380 is preferable to 8 rounds of .32.
There is no shortage of n’er-do-wells who have met their maker after being shot with a .380. It is also a quite accurate cartridge.
.380 ACP? The one invented by a Mr. John Moses Browning? The fella who also developed the much-maligned .32 ACP. Lemme see, someone here raves on about him a lot…hmm…
Only redeeming quality about either IS their tie to HMS, JMB, (HBHN). Again, no particular reasons other than the fact that I’ve never used a lot of .380, but am quite fond of my .38 revolvers. Just as I am quite found of my .45 autoloader and revolver. Heck, ask any woman…they’ll tell you…Bigger IS better…

Governor Desantis heard about these squatters taking over houses with fake leases.
So the homeowner has to go through the expense and time of eviction.
And they have to Pay the utilities while the squatters destroy the property.
So he shepherded a law through the legislature that fake lease squatters will go to jail while the courts sort out the fake lease.
And making a fake lease is a felony
No problem carrying and using firearms.
But in a true hand-to-hand challenge, one should not need or want them. Especially if you are part of the problem.
