Woman tells deputies she shot, killed man after being kidnapped, drugged in Gillespie County
GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas – Deputies are investigating after a woman called to report that she was kidnapped and drugged and had shot someone in Gillespie County.
On March 15, around 12:42 p.m., deputies tracked the woman down near a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290, where they say she described the vehicle and the weapon used.
A deputy found the vehicle in the outside lane of westbound traffic and found a man dead in the front-seat area.
An investigator interviewed the woman at the local hospital while deputies gathered evidence.
Police identified the dead man as 49-year-old Lance Demon Reid, who they say had been living in the Houston area.

Demon has gone to meet his demon.
(Really!? “Demon”?! What mother that loves their newborn names him “Demon”?!)
Seems as if the suspected cereal robber shoulda been eating more Lucky Charms. His luck ran out and no pot of gold for him.
I guess we won’t read much more about Lance’s demons.
The Marquis would weep at how the “law” is applied these days.
Not only did today’s gun pr0n not work very well, it is also fugly as all hell.
May be a long day of escort duty today. Awaiting confirmation of the Warning Orders issued on evening past. Be aware of hung over Leprechauns.
Lance with no pants has danced his last dance.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire and their Steyr-Mannlicher rifles… I kind of wish I’d have bought the M1886 we got last year. It was a curiosity that I could find little info on; it had the Chilean export marks and judging by the bore it maintained the original 11x58mmR chambering, while the majority were rechambered to 8x52mmR. It was also chromed out, missing the safety, and looked for all intents and purposes like it had served mostly as a parade rifle.
The very nomenclature gives away the reason why the Steyr M1886 was a short-lived rifle. The M1886 Lebel is widely known as the first modern bolt action to use smokeless powder, immediately making larger bore black powder cartridges all but obsolete. Within 20 years, most major nations would be using improved “spitzer” ammunition that was ballistically far superior to even the earlier smokeless loadings. Hence, of course, the M1903 being rechambered for .30-06 in lieu of the original .30-03.
I like gun history. As for the deceased criminals in the above stories, well, they lived like fools and hopefully they spent their final moments feeling like fools.
