Police investigating deadly shooting near North Nashville intersection

by: Alicia Patton, Erin McCullough
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities are investigating a self-defense claim after a shooting resulted in the death of a man in North Nashville late Monday night.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Avenue North and Herman Street on Monday, Feb. 26.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), a man — later identified as Kyrin Gardner, 23 — was shot and killed.

Authorities reported Gardner was fatally shot by a 44-year-old rideshare driver.

Detectives said a preliminary investigation indicates the rideshare drive called 911 twice Monday, first at 9:57 p.m. from the 1100 block of Broadway, where he reported that he had been kidnapped at gunpoint by an individual in his vehicle, but the call disconnected before additional information could be obtained.

He then called 911 again at 10:14 p.m., reporting he had just shot a man who robbed and kidnapped him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
According to the driver, he gave Gardner a ride to a public housing area when Gardner became agitated, pulled a gun and began making threats.
Mr. Gardener’s criminal career has quit growing.
Poke the Mama Bear too many times and you’ll get the “Claw”. Is there an FSN for that? Or a separate Whizz Wheel score?
The nation won’t benefit from a prolonged war, but the MIC certainly will…along with the funeral industry.
A Baby wanna be quad .50? Only if it eats some some blue boolits and you wait an hour or so. If it remains a full size .50 for more than 4 hours, call your armorer.
Ike knew:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
Speaking of guns, here’s a story on stolen American Legion M1 Garands, involving the Legion Commander. Talk about another scumbag in charge of a Veterans Club.
