MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland tells NewsWest 9 that a suspect burglarized a north Midland home Saturday morning and was killed by the homeowner who used self-defense.

According to the Midland Police Department, at about 4:09 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 1400 block of Daventry Place due to a “disturbance with weapons.”

Upon arrival, officers found a man identified as 37-year-old George Samuel Butler located at the scene, deceased.

MPD determined that Butler entered the residence “by force with a rifle,” and then the homeowner placed Butler in a choke hold some time during the burglary.

I am certain Mr. Butler never uttered the words, “I can’t breathe!” simply because if one can’t breathe one cannot actually, speak.
Go figure.

Police investigating shootout at Marysville home

MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Police are investigating a shootout that happened at a home in Marysville Saturday night.

Marysville Police say they received multiple 911 calls about sounds of gunfire on 41st Drive NE near 84th St. NE.

Officers arrived at the scene and determined that three people arrived at a home in a stolen vehicle and confronted a homeowner who just arrived home.

Police say both the homeowner and suspects were armed, and gunfire was exchanged between the parties. It’s unknown if anyone was injured.

The three suspects fled, leading to a hours-long, large-scale search with multiple K-9s and drones. One suspect was located, but the two others are still on the run.

He stopped the threat and Marysville Po-Po stepped in and caught one. BZ! Thanks, Gun Bunny.

No fundamental social change occurs merely because government acts. It’s because civil society, the conscience of a country, begins to rise up and demand – demand – demand change.

I’d have to say that it’s hard to speak after you’ve stopped breathing.

I LIKE this one. Bringing a choke hold to a gun fight……and winning. Bravo! I wonder if the homeowner was a WWE wrestler, and what was his ring name?
I’ll add this one to the 3″, 3 ring, loose leaf binder set of T2NB2AGF (with special footnote and annotation).

Yeah, a little something different for ya, Tox. Per usual, the article is not very clear on exactly how the perp was given the dirt nap. The link from GVA that goes to the NW9 article is murky also, but indicates the perp died by gun shot. Imma thinking (?) the homeowner used the choke hold to get control of the perp’s weapon and used said weapon to make the perp DRT. Linky to GVA is below.

The Marysville Citizen had good SA, three (3) perps had the drop on him, he still scored a WRT and put the others in the wind. Head on a swivel and hand on your weapon, folks.

The demand for a change to the change that you and your handler JEF brought on is swelling like 100 million fire ants are coming to your picnic, sniffy creepy joe.

Me thinks that S&W 686 may even be from the personal collection of our Beloved Kid Squid (ht2 Ol’ Poe). That is, it was before that tragic boat accident. Just like his Hero, Marvin The Martian, AW1Ed loves him an Earth Shattering KA-BOOOOM!

The problem with a long gun is that once you get into reach of the other guy it can be a hindrance where you can no longer use it against the other guy. Congrats to the homeowner, that’s a pair of big brass ones to win in a situation like that.

OK, Tox, found this update from the Midland popo. The perp DID get his dirt nap via a choke hold.

No, the man was killed at his wife’s house by the man she was having an affair with. He put him in a chokehold and then hit him “over 100 times.” It wasn’t the chokehold, he wasn’t a burglar, they all knew each other and he was married to the homeowner.

Edited.

Elegance on display. I prefer the 586 and a 4″ barrel but that’s just for carry purposes. You can’t go wrong with a 686 as a first revolver, if you can afford it.

There are plenty of alternatives in the S&W catalogue and my old 442 Airweight has remained the main carry piece for about the past 30 years. On Sundays I like to dress just a little better with a shoulder holster and something a wee bit heftier.

Haha, ah hell, one of these days I may go to a Golden Corral, after church, with an open carry .357 and a Stetson hat.

I’m not going to risk it on the banana pudding but if there’s anything similar to a peach cobbler, let it be done.

Good wheel gun is the 686. It was my issue sidearm for 8 years until I transitioned to my Sig P-220
