Not sure that’s how it works?
Ingredients: 1) Ukrainian drone. 2) Russian anti-air defenses. 3) Oil refinery.
The Russian recipe calls for ingredients 1 and 2 to mix. Ukraine’s version probably wants only ingredients 1 and 3.
Russia, however mixed all three together last week with predictable results.
A Ukrainian military drone was flying over the town of Klintsy when Russian military forces forced it down, causing it to release its munitions into the oil field.
“An aeroplane-style drone was brought down by the defense ministry using radio-electronic means. When the aerial target was destroyed, its munitions were dropped on the territory of the Klintsy oil depot,” regional governor Alexander Bogomaz wrote on social media.
Russian sources claim no one was harmed in the explosion, but local authorities were forced to call in specialized firefighters to handle the resulting inferno. Fox News
The Russian duckhunters are having a tough time lately – shooting down their own AWACs last week, bombing their own oil storage this week using Ukrainian munitions (guess their own were unavailable?) At this rate, whoever is in charge is going to get a medal… from Ukraine.
Normally when I see an article like this, from Ukrayinska Pravda or other Ukrainian source, I take it with a large grain (OK, dune) of salt. But being as how this was on the somewhat more reputable Fox instead, had to run with it.

“Ohshi shitski, need another shot Vodka, Comrade!!!”
Hey buddy, Canada just a guest from Afghanistan shoot up city hall his SKS while yelling about the snake bar.

That’s unpossible!
The People’s Republic of the Maple Leaf and All-You-Can-…. Sodomy Buffet said that ‘davursotee is [their] strength!’ so obviously this report is wrong.
Also, Turd-oh got rid of all the scary weapons unilaterally so this report is proven doublepluswrong.
There is the empirical evidence, I get paid WEF bux now?
If you shoot down one of your own aircraft, does that still count towards earning the title of Ace?
Not sure if it made him an ace, but this guy shot down a US C-47 that was about to land on a Japanese-held island… Louis Edward Curdes is his name. Interesting little story.
Hell! I want to know how he got the nickname “Buck Wheat”!
Who?
Buhweet libs!
Russian leader: “hold! Hold! Hold! Hold! Now!!!”
Stroke….stroke….stroke….steeeeeeroke…..OH…OH….OH GOD….
Haha…pretty funny.
Now when proxies of Hamas, Houthis, Hezbolla, Syria or Iran (etc.) do the exact same in America…no sad faces.
“using radio-electronic means”
As an old Signal guy that warms my heart.
With enough wattage, anything is jammable.
That’s what she said….
I want to know what they used and did so that I can apply it over here.
(another old Signal guy)
You’ll need a phased array radar. Point it at the drone and turn it on.
Who doesn’t love the smell of a burning Russkie oil refinery? Red Adair was unavailable for comment.
“Red” Adair, as a good ol’ Texas boy, would just prop his boots up on the porch rail and watch.

“Where’s the KABOOM? There should have been an Earth shattering KABOOM. Oh, goody, goody, goody, THERE it is.”
That shot down drone must have been done OILY in the day.
How do you say “oops” in Russian?
You should’ve taken that Fox News article with a mountain of salt, they based their story on Russian statements on the event.
Fox example, the Fox News article claims that the drone was forced/shot down, resulting in the release of its ammunition into the oil field. This implies that the ammunition was dropped because it was shot. But, if you look at which oil tanks are burning, and the spread of the damage, the drone had accomplished the mission for which it was deployed before it was shot down. The drone either intended to hit with the ammunition attached, or release the ammunition into one target and then crash into another target. Either way, the video and image in the article show that the drone accomplished its mission.
The Ukrainians don’t expect drones like these to make it back to Ukraine. They are usually fueled for one-way missions.
Russian anti-air defense is such that they are known to also cause destruction to what it is they’re defending… Like what happened in Belgorod. So, what the article’s image and video are potentially showing is a combination of the Ukrainian drone accomplishing its mission before being shot down (if the Russians are being honest), and Russian defenses adding to the damage with their own ammunition.
The Russians usually pull a Comical Ali/Baghdad Bob when a Ukrainian strike embarrass them. For example, their response to a successful Storm Shadow attack as “burning grass,” despite the mushroom cloud like appearance shown in video uploaded onto the internet.
Might clarify – big-ass explosions make mushroom shaped clouds. That there is a mushroom shaped cloud does NOT mean a nuke strike.
David: Might clarify — big-ass explosions make mushroom shaped clouds. That there is a mushroom shaped cloud does NOT mean a nuke strike.
No clarification needed, as your response actually enforces what I said:
“For example, their response to a successful Storm Shadow attack as “burning grass,” despite the mushroom cloud like appearance shown in video uploaded onto the internet.” – thebesig
I wasn’t claiming that Ukraine conducted a nuclear strike. The United States was one of the countries that got Ukraine to give up its nukes. One assurance that they got was security support from the United States, and another was from Russia that the latter wouldn’t attack them.
What I was talking about above involved the Russian controlled administrators claiming that there was a massive grass fire, despite social media video uploads showing what looked like a mushroom cloud… Indicating a successful Storm Shadow attack on the target. This was a massive embarrassment for the Russians. They have to provide nonsense explanations otherwise they’d have to come to terms that their actions are inconsistent with their claims as well as with their inability to make good on “crossing the red line consequences” that they’ve hinted.
