Man charged for his role in Capitol riot was previously court-martialed for manslaughter
Edward Richmond Jr., 40, was charged for assaulting a Capitol police officer repeatedly during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. This was not his first rodeo with the law. Richmond was deployed to Iraq in 2004 when he shot and killed a handcuffed Iraqi civilian. He was tried and convicted for this killing. Richmond subsequently received a dishonorable discharge from the Army.
From The Associated Press:
Richmond was 20 when an Army court-martial panel convicted him of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced him to three years in prison for killing the handcuffed Iraqi civilian near Taal Al Jai in February 2004. Richmond also received a dishonorable discharge from the Army.
Richmond initially was charged with unpremeditated murder, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. But the panel of five officers and five enlisted soldiers reduced the charge to voluntary manslaughter.
The Army said Richmond shot Muhamad Husain Kadir, a cow herder, in the back of the head from about six feet away after the man stumbled. Richmond testified that he didn’t know Kadir was handcuffed and believed the Iraqi man was going to harm a fellow soldier.
During the Jan. 6 riot, body camera footage captured Richmond repeatedly assaulting police officers with a black baton in a tunnel on the Capitol’s Lower West Terrace, the FBI said. Police struggled for hours to stop the mob of Donald Trump supporters from entering the Capitol through the same tunnel entrance.
A witness helped the FBI identify Richmond as somebody who had traveled to Washington, D.C., with several other people to serve as a “security team” for the witness for rallies planned for Jan. 6, according to the agent’s affidavit.

Great dude, not.
What a clown.
Well, the FBI loves to recruit as informants and influencers people who have been in trouble…
“During the Jan. 6 riot, body camera footage captured Richmond repeatedly assaulting police officers with a black baton in a tunnel on the Capitol’s Lower West Terrace, the FBI said. “
I don’t see this going well for Mr. Richmond…a lack of cognitive sensibility seems a significant factor in the decision making process for Mr. Richmond and a host of others.
I mean the whole “I don’t want to wear a mask and be a sheep” thing is great at home…when you’re committing crimes in the capitol perhaps masking up would be a good decision in the future….also cell phones…do we really need to have the whole “burner” phone explanation given for everyone once again?
When you buy a burner don’t use your credit card, don’t activate it in your house on your home network, don’t turn it on in your home, don’t use it in your neighborhood…
Go to your protest LEAVE YOUR REGULAR PHONE AT HOME, leave your burner off until you arrive on site…even then DON’T TURN IT ON, you only use it if you need to make a call to an ambulance or an attorney, don’t video yourself committing crimes, stay masked up….this is basic stuff people.
That’s for amauteurs. Your burner phone info is at least 15 years out of date.
Don’t have one at all.
Have someone else make calls and texts if needed. Make sure they get the cheap kind the battery comes out of and then take it out till needed. There is an alternate way to do that if you can’t get the battery out. But it should never have a power source.
Lots of other things too.
All yous guys don’t gets it. How are you supposed to take selfies?
Yes, that is good advice. I note that the smash and grab gangs are always fully masked and gloved, with hooded heads on those surveillance videos we see on TV. I bet the smart ones leave their phones at home with grandma.
Federales don’t GAF about smash and grab gangs. They aren’t going to get a section 200 warrant for one either unless they stole incriminating evidence from one of Biden’s kids.
I agree. They are primarily targeted upon domestic terrorists, every citizen who voted for or otherwise supports Trump. This also includes people who are against Trump but are conservative Christians.
Hang him by his BALLs
And then banish him to All-Points Logistics.
“Like giving out speeding tickets at the Indianapolis 500!”
Charlie don’t boogie board!
Sounds like an FBI DoJ subcontractor. Maybe he’s on Soros’ payroll, as well.
Kinda what I was thinking, too, Tally. Again, sketchy on the details. The (((they))) are only giving us enough info to go hmmm. The (((they))) seem to be more concerned about his past nefarious activities (and slim details on that, too), showing again how dangerous all veterans are. Fits (((the))) narrative that (((they))) love so well.
Not condoning what this idjit did, in either situation, but…I want to see EVERYTHING related to the whole Jan 6, including the deleted emails from the “Committee”, SanFranNan’s complicity with the staging of Security (or lack there of), and some more real investigations on the Ashli Babbit shooting.
Odd that cameras in the Capitol Building area have pin pointed 100s of “Rioters” but we still don’t know who left drugs in what is supposed to be the most secure building in the world. Next thing we’ll see is the hangman’s noose on this dood’s garage door.
You’ll see what the DOJ wants you to see and nothing more. Who the hell do you think you are, not trusting your government! Don’t you know they’re here to help?
Now if ya’ll will excuse me for a bit, I need to go gargle some Jameson’s. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Maybe you need one of these in your Man Cave, Little Brother…
Oooooh…
Not just deleted emails, but video…both of which technically could be subject to FOIA, but will never see the light of day because they likely contain information that I undermines the whole narrative. Destruction of any record pertaining to 6 Jan is in violation of federal law, but nobody will be held to account.
FBI DoJ subcontractor wearing a mask, hoodie, and MAGA hat, affiliated with Antifa no doubt.
There were plenty of people like him there that day. Antifa operatives didn’t all of a sudden go “poof” and stop appearing at Trump gatherings.
(Just an observation…)
He should have purchased a burner phone with software from the proud but humble woman owned business formerly located on Wilson Lane in Bethesda Maryland. Not only would the Feds be unable to track, it would literally burst into flames. Our software engineers were inspired by the first three minutes of every Mission Impossible episode .
I’ll just stick this right here…
A blast from the past…Some of us are old enough to remember when this happened…
Dang!
Is that quote real?
Depends on who you ask, Slow Joe. The official party line from the fact checkers claim that it was never quoted in a speech that JFK made. Others have stated that he made the comment in a cabinet meeting just before he was murdered. I personally didn’t hear him say it, but I was alive and old enough in 1963 to know that JFK and LBJ DID NOT get along, JFK WAS NOT killed by Oswald acting alone, LBJ lied and cheated to get us into VN (getting richer in the process), Bush 1 was CIA at that time, the list goes on.
Personally, I think that the meme shows that the “Deep State” is not a new thing but has been around for a very long time. Just has the killing of political enemies.
The study of history, trends, and intentions can be a curse. In the immortal words of Skully and Mulder; The Truth is out there…Trust no one.
It should be obvious to any one with more than two (2) brain cells to rub together. We, The People are in danger of losing this Republic, our children and grandchildren will suffer for our not doing something about it. The current fedDOTguv is in blatant violation of The Constitution, the (((they))) are only concerned about holding onto (((their))) power and enriching themselves.
Prepare
You are going to trigger the commie cuttlefish with that quote.
You how he is:
Here, fishie fishie!
