You have to love how often the pols of today have to eat crow for what they said yesterday. We just recently saw where Joe Biden called out the need for border security when he was running for office… apparently since then he has changed his mind. Or forgotten which border. Or forgotten what a border IS (I’ll take #3 for $500, Alex.)
Well, in the age of the Interwebz, ya gotta remember (or at least pay a mildy sentient staffer who CAN remember) what you say. Case in point:
“Let’s be clear: Donald Trump does not have the authority to take us into war with Iran without Congressional approval,” Biden posted in January 2020 after Trump launched a strike that killed the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani.
“A president should never take this nation to war without the informed consent of the American people,” Biden added.
“As President, I will use military power responsibly and as a last resort. We will not go back to forever wars in the Middle East,” Biden posted in February 2020 with the hashtag “#DemDebate.”
“This aged well,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., posted on X.
Several conservatives also pointed out that the Biden administration lifted the terrorist designation for the Houthis in Yemen less than a month after Biden took office in 2021.
Well, I guess in Joe’s defense, he hasn’t gotten us involved in one war… to date it’s two, Ukraine and Israel. But with China v. Taiwan waiting in the wings, he certainly has a fair shot at having that WWIII his followers always accused Trump of wanting to start.

According to the Ukrainians they shot down a Russian IL-50 command and control plane Sunday morning.
Similar to our AWACs, this is a pretty pricey hickey if true. 260 million English pounds quoted, call it $330,000,000 Yew Ess. That compares to $1.98 billion for 7 of our latest ones, so roughly equivalent.
The Soviet-era command and reconnaissance plane uses high-range radar to detect missiles and aircraft on the battlefield while issuing orders to Russian fighter jets.
It’s thought Vladimir Putin’s forces now only have eight operational A-50s left in their entire fleet.
As one of the big boy toys, expect some senior staff to have been lost. Nice to see 11% of their fleet gone in one go, eh? And for additional icing on the cake, an IL-22 command and control jet was shot at and damaged, forced to RTB. MSN
There are rumors that one or both planes sustained friendly fire which brought them down, but that can’t be confirmed. Bad day for Russian air, worse if they shot down their own. If they did, I foresee a purge which will make the aftermath of Matthias Rust’s landing in Red Square look like a picnic.

One was shot down earlier in the year during the failed coup by rebel forces. One of these was shot down in an ADA ambush, much like when they shot down the three SU37s soon after the PATRIOTs system arrived.
It isn’t complicated. You move the weapon system within in range of where your target historically flies and keep it turned off. The enemy then flies by. Requires some patience not to shoot at everything else flying by.
No different than staking out a spot on the river and waiting for the ducks and geese.

As for what Biden said… It doesn’t really matter. He will just change his story and say that he never said that. You might think that people wouldn’t believe him anymore. You would be wrong about that. People believe, whatever they want to believe.
And whatever the state run news media/lame time news tells they should believe.
Fox included in that to high extent.
It really hardly matters what biden says, it’s what the handlers in control of the meat puppet do that actually matters. The real folks in charge kind of have to let him off the leash for a bit for personal appearances and “speeches” so that’s where the confusion in policy erupts.
Surely is a good thing for us that the Bad Orange Man was not (s)elected instead of sniffy creepy feely joey. I feel so much safer with a known pedo in charge instead of someone that was making deals to keep the world safer. Look at all the wars that Bad Orange Man got us involved in.
Was Darth Llyod on that Ruskkie aircraft or was he in a bunker in the ‘kraine? Instead of Russian Collusion we seem to have a case of Russian Collision…with an AA weapon. Pity.

The perspective is a bit different if one has flown in the back of one of those ducks. We would trail our coattails up and down the coast of Libya, for one, just to stir up trouble. We were highly trained, at the top of our game and had a lot of support. Somehow I doubt any of those conditions existed here.
