Meh. Should have throttled up and kept going or at least take
out the hydrant and have the box fetch up on it as he drives off
without it.
Then the door opens and all the illegals start pouring out and
fleeing the scene.

Read the comments, and somebody posted the guys name who hit the bridge. I couldn’t pronounce it, so doubtful English is his first, second or third language.

Like someone else posted, I was waiting to see the fire hydrant get hit as well. A twofer if you will.

Dumbasses running into low bridges will never get old.

Never.

Great selection. Can’t go wrong with far side cartoons.

Funny as those are, that 2023 Finale meme is scary. Also, the fact Biden’s been in office for nearly three years. Three years ago, I was still pushing out FRAGOs for the 2021 Inauguration. Leading up to the event, the main I395 bridge and others were closed, necessitating taking a lengthy detour, and even then, a lot of the roads were closed. I got confused one morning and ended up at a roadblock near the Capitol. I was the lone person in a 15-passenger DOD commuter van with the company logos all over it, but was at least in uniform, and somehow, I bluffed my way past the ARNG SFC. Well, I didn’t really bluff, I was legitimately trying to get to my mission-essential position in the Ops Center on McNair. Anyway, I drove right past the Capitol when very few others were permitted, and seeing the fence and troops outside was an eerie sight. Of course, my inner monologue wondered if it was more a facade than an effective security measure, because a 1-ton 15-passenger van can hold enough bad stuff to do some damage.

Two weeks left in 2023. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” Christmas and the New Year will work to divert many peoples’ attention away from what’s happening on a national and world level. I wonder what next year will bring us. Remember, 2020 started with a blast (Soleimani), then murder hornets were overshadowed by Covid, which brought us mandatory masks and lockdowns. Covid itself was contested for headlines after St. Floyd’s death, and suddenly the medical masks were exchanged for ski masks and the lockdowns didn’t apply to “peaceful protestors”. Cue the runup to the election, and then the “results” of that election.

fm2176

Wholly unqualified predictions:

We’ll get active in some war or another to make FJB look strong and effectual. Drone strikes, troops on the ground, something.

There will be a hyped-up natural threat to divert us from the goings-on in Washington. We’ve had killer bees and murder hornets, so maybe the next scare will be maniacal mud daubers.

Covid’s newest strain will hit harder than ever, but this time we have the vaccine. Masks, lockdowns, and more, unless you have your RFID wristband showing up-to-date monthly boosters.

A White cop will inadvertently kill a Black person. Let’s make it a teen this time. Bring back all the fun graffiti: “F12”, “ACAB”, “Defund the Police”, etc. Let the protesters loot, burn, harm innocent bystanders, and otherwise wreak havoc across our nation.

During the lockdowns, the FBI will infiltrate and enable some backwoods “militia” and help them develop a seemingly workable plan to kidnap or assassinate a Dem politician.

During the protests, armed Citizens will be forced to defend themselves and will immediately be vilified by nationwide media.

In other words, I’ll be surprised if next year doesn’t look at least a little like 2020. After all, the formula worked to get Trump out of office. Maybe it will serve to keep him from regaining that office.

When The Reconciliation Monument is finally removed and replaced with a Saint Floyd of Fentanyl, all will be right in their world.

They think they’ve won the war, but it’s just another battle. Arlington National Cemetery is hallowed ground, but let’s not forget that it was stolen from the Custis-Lee family and initially desecrated when Meigs desired to place graves around the house. Now, Arlington House itself has been removed from the county logo and soon Lee’s name will be disassociated with it: Local lawmakers again introduce legislation to remove Lee’s name from Arlington House | ARLnow.com.

The men and women buried within ANC have many backgrounds and come from different eras. Changing the landscape and removing memorials that have stood some 109 years is a slap in the face to all of those buried there who died before the tensions of the 1850s, as well as those who served the US afterward despite directly serving or having ancestors who served the Confederacy.

The reply below is a quote from ANC’s site as of today. It’s well-worded and concisely states why these memorials and monuments are important. If we are ever to fully unite, regardless of skin color, we need to remember. Erasing history doesn’t rewrite it. Similarly, rewriting history doesn’t erase it. Tearing down a statue isn’t going to change anything that happened over a century ago, just as erecting new statues to support modern concepts isn’t going to eliminate memories and records of once glorious memorials to a defeated nation and her sacrifices. Confederate Memorial (arlingtoncemetery.mil)

From the above link:

“The Confederate Memorial offers an opportunity for visitors to reflect on the history and meanings of the Civil War, slavery, and the relationship between military service, citizenship and race in America. This memorial, along with the segregated United States Colored Troops graves in Section 27, invites us to understand how politics and culture have historically shaped how Americans have buried and commemorated the dead. Memorialization at a national cemetery became an important marker of citizenship — which, in the post-Reconstruction era, was granted to white Civil War veterans, Confederate or Union, but not to African American soldiers who had served their country. In such ways, the history of Arlington National Cemetery allows us to better understand the complex history of the United States.”

There’s a grave there with someone who shares my first and last name, and who served in the VA HVY ART. Whenever I conducted a funeral nearby, I’d take the time to stop and contemplate our past transgressions and the cost of our inability to come to terms in 1861.

Lincoln’s policy with such matters was to be inclusive (in the wholesome sense of word progressive left/libtards seek to evoke for their own ends) so we would all be Americans again after the Civil War.

Democrats (the party of Jefferson Davis, mind you) are being as divisive as when they fired upon Fort Sumter again.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I’ve lived my entire life down South. Richmond, with Monument Blvd, Hollywood Cemetery, and of course all of the nearby battlefields, more or less defining the city to me growing up. Every small town in Georgia I passed through on 280 or another rural route had some sort of memorial, as did every small VA town on 301. There was a Mason-Dixon Line marker only a few miles from where my Dad lived in Delaware on the Maryland border. I-12 is the Republic of West Florida Parkway, replete with the signs showing the flag of that short-lived nation, which went on to inspire the Bonnie Blue.

It’s not only history, it’s culture down here. Some 160 years ago, young men were laying down their lives for, yes, a Lost Cause, that ended up more or less defining the future of this nation. Let’s hope that we can grow beyond this, but as you stated, the Dems have changed little. In the time of the Civil War, Democrats helped divide the nation and pushed for secession. Lincoln sought reconciliation, and 100+ years ago, it was decided to try to appease the South by memorializing their sacrifices and idealized motivation. Right or wrong, it’s now history and shouldn’t be eradicated. I’m not worried, “they” will never let us forget that America is and was a racist country that should feel indebted to the slaves who built it. They just reverse the roles, do a little rewrite, and it becomes historical fact that the South was controlled by Republican Nazis.

Democrats were the ones who passed Jim Crow laws and supported segregation. When they managed to become the “good guys” in the mid-1900s, they weaponized terms like “racist” even while hiding their Klan hoods (looking at you Ghost Byrd). Now, they have a classic racist Democrat holding the office of President. Sorry, but while I’ve seen and heard a lot down South, Delaware takes the cake when it comes to racist views and Confederate flags.

This made me laugh and giggle for a solid 2 minutes and in NO WAY am I embarrassed to say that, nor to admit getting lightheaded due to oxygen depravation.

Love the meme about feeding the “vegan” kid bacon thru the mail slot!

In that same vein, here is my favorite bacon commercial.

Does it come with a manual or a handbook? Gotta have a checklist before even starting the pre-flight inspections. Probably want to inflate those tracks with nitrogen, too.

Hadn’t checked on that yet, Tally. Still inspecting the crew that came with it…

More so and more so, I am of the mindset that all inequity and ills foisted upon the citizens of These States United is product of an unholy alliance of villainous scum at the controls of monetary policy called “The Federal Reserve”.

Damn them and their satan-inspired derivative slight-of-hand theft bullshit that makes Our Brothers and Sisters servile to this authority of ever-increasing nothingness.

On that note, Happy Sunday!
