Breathing contributes to global warming
A new study claims that humans are contributing to global warming simply through the breathing process. In addition to carbon dioxide (CO2), humans exhale nitrogen (N), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). The authors of the study said that both methane and nitrous oxide are global warming contributors. Dr. Cowan, the lead researcher behind this study, acknowledged that plants soak up the CO2 that humans exhale, but the other two culprits are not used in photosynthesis.

The new study was led by Dr Nicholas Cowan, an atmospheric physicist at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Edinburgh.
‘Exhaled human breath can contain small, elevated concentrations of methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), both of which contribute to global warming,’ Dr Cowan and colleagues say.
‘We would urge caution in the assumption that emissions from humans are negligible.’
As most of us remember from science classes at school, humans breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.
When we inhale, air enters the lungs, and oxygen from that air moves to the blood, while carbon dioxide (CO2), a waste gas, moves from the blood to the lungs and is breathed out.
With plants, it is the other way round; plants use CO2 to create oxygen as a by-product (the process known as photosynthesis).
Every person breathes out CO2 when they exhale, but in their new study, the researchers focused on methane and nitrous oxide.

Places for research like the UK Center for Ecology and Hydrology will produce whatever results are expected by whoever is funding the study. In Dr. Cowan’s case, he was paid to come up with reasons and beliefs that humans contribute to global warming because of breathing. Following the “science”, which is dogshit.

Kinda like oil and natural gas are both just composted dinosaurs… what could be greener?
Oil and coal are both organic compounds, and therefore produce “green” energy.
The movie took a lot of license. In the original novel (Make Room! Make Room!), “soylent” was a portmanteau of “soy” and “lentil” and it was much closer to things like veggie burgers, the Impossible products, and all the other lab grown meats that no one wants to eat.
The company, Soylent, is basically a bunch of software engineers trying to bio-hack nutrition for the vegan market. They probably understand marketing even less than they do nutrition, but the company name tracks with its literary origin.
Yes, we know the origin of the name in the book and the movie. Regardless of the origin of the actual product, I can’t believe that a bunch of geeks (software engineers) wouldn’t have read the book, seen the movie, or been aware of the “Soylent Green is people” memes. Again, idiots or marketing geniuses…
So, in short, while we live, we provide plant food, and when we die, we provide plant fertilizer. Win Win for the plants if you ask me.
