Biden reiterates ability to support Ukraine and Israel, Schumer rushing Israel military aid
During an interview on 60 Minutes, Joe Biden reiterated America’s ability to support both Ukraine and Israel at the same time as they deal with hostile forces. Biden said that the United States can take care of both situations while still covering America’s international defense.
From AOL:
Joe Biden has strongly insisted that the US can back two wars in Israel and Ukraine at the same time as the conflict in the Middle East continues to deepen.
“We’re the United States of America for God’s sake. The most powerful nation in the history of the world,” the president told Scott Pelley in a 60 Minutes interview set to air on Sunday night.
“We can take care of both of these and still maintain our overall international defence. We have the capacity to do this and we have an obligation to, we are the “essential nation” to paraphrase the former Secretary of State. And if don’t then who does?”
Aol.com provides the rest of the article here. Putting Joe Biden’s and Lloyd Austin’s statements regarding concurrent support for both Israel and Ukraine to action, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer spoke of the Senate’s action to provide a military aid package to Israel. Schumer’s intent is to get this passed through the Senate in a way that shows the House that this bill has solid bipartisan support.
From Reuters:
“We will work to move this aid through the Senate ASAP, and the Israeli leaders made it clear to us they need the aid quickly,” said Schumer during a trip to Israel.
He said among Israel’s requests are additional interceptors for its Iron Dome missile defense system, which has been operating non-stop shooting down Hamas rockets from Gaza, and precision munitions.
“What about the House (of Representatives)? We’re not waiting for the House. We believe if the Senate acts in a strong bipartisan way, it may indeed improve the chances that the House, even with its current dysfunction, will act,” Schumer said.

Resources may be a bit tight when further sh*t hits the fan though. Be advised, you may have to go with what ya got. Just sayin’.
Especially when the ChiComs attack Taiwan
Nah, world politicking and strategic maneuvering isn’t exactly the strong suit of up-and-coming nations looking to take advantage of the overreach of an overstretched “most powerful nation in the history of the world”.
May be now or never like Lee at Gettysburg for ’em soon:

Prepare…
Amen!
(I need to stock water….)
While I have nowhere near enough for a prolonged siege, I like to order bottled water in bulk from Sam’s Club for the kiddies to take to school or mix with flavor packets, while trying to keep at least three of my five-gallon bottles full for the water cooler (yes, I’m one of “those”, but hey, it was on clearance at Walmart and has a built-in coffee maker).
Ammo and guns, check. Enough to sustain me, at least. Water, yep, and fill the bathtubs if and when the need arises. Dogs, well, keep the AFT happy and they’ll be around as long as I am during a fight.
I used to joke about having range cards in my windows. I think a former Army buddy first brought it up due to the fact that I was the resident “gun nut” in most of my units. Now I think I may need to plot out fields of fire. Good thing I’ve got a squad-plus of kids and their significant others.
My attitude when I installed our outdoor motion detector-activated floodlights was that I need to keep the kill zone well-lit at night when goblins come!
Jus’ sayin’
Prepare
iFree Sh*t!
SFC D approves this message
Hell yes I approve! Only thing missing is a few smokers and grills.
Add a few range towers.
Oh, and a few antennas for Signal purposes.
Maybe Motorola could donate a nice repeater system. I got a guy.
A tower or two for Forward Observers would be nice.
Maybe some triple stand concertina and a nice minefield? Properly posted in multiple languages, of course. Essayons!
Y’all keep up this kinda talk and Imma gonna get a chubby.

I mean, some indirect fires wouldn’t go amiss..
Bullshit, Joe. Our international defense on the southern border is nonexistent. It’s not just future democrat voters coming across.
Beware the ones who buzz their hair short, claim to be Mexican and don’t habla the Espanol as well as Aloha Snackbar.
The Master Plan…Good thing that the Bad Orange Man wasn’t (s)elected to be the prezzy. We would be well on our way to WWIII by now.
We might could afford to continue being the world’s policeman and free arms supplier if we cut out foreign aid, welfare, free sh^t, defaulted on the $33 TRILLION in debt, … Need I go on?
IDGAF about what’s happening on the other side of the world. Europeans, Mid Easterners, Asians, Africans, etc have been fighting one another since the beginning of time. We Americans slaughtered pert near a million of our own in a political war and we learned our lesson. We “bound up the Nation’s wounds” and went on to contribute more to the advancement of Mankind than any other Society ever. Now we have domestic enemies politically trying to divide us and have allowed MILLIONS of sketchy individuals to not only invade us, but paid to ship them all over the country. I’m concerned about the ones that want to destroy Americans not become an American.
Prepare…

We fought a good fight against our original “protectors”, then got a bit disoriented and begged to differ with each other–largely along the Mason-Dixon Line–fighting another good fight. The post-Civil War period was not perfect, but we gradually made amends through Reconstruction and the reactionary Jim Crow era and into the 1960s. Blacks and other minorities got increased liberties and over time we learned that we can “all just get along”.
I wasn’t alive waayy back when in the ’60s…my parents were in their teens and twenties themselves and likely had little world view, though my dad completed his Army service in Korea and West Berlin by 1963. I like the music and love the overall vibe, but I’m like a time-travelling carpetbagger in a way. Can’t claim that culture or that era.
With that said, the ’60s were a time where we truly became divided yet again as a nation, with an unpopular war being waged by unpopular politicians who, in hindsight, were setting the stage for what was to come. Race riots, La Raza types, and perhaps most importantly for us, the rise of people like Sleepy Joe, the Clintons, and far too many other now prominent [if rapidly aging] politicians set the stage for “The Squad”, the First Black President ™ and so many others who have only served to widen the gap between traditionalists and “Progressives”.
What’s funny is that self-proclaimed “Progressives” and their ilk have become the war-mongering profiteers they always claimed that staunch Conservatives were. All the while, though, they shore up the armies of foreign nations while simultaneously undermining our own military and justice system to ensure that the core of our country is at risk of criminals and/or the “criminal justice system” itself…
I just wonder what kickbacks the both of them are expecting, lifelong scumbag pols like them do nothing for anyone unless they gain from it.
And on the subject of worthless pols, Heels Up Harris will be in Az tomorrow. Nope, nowhere near the border. NAU. Flagstaff. Useless twat.
It’s just as simple as “Shall not be infringed…”
COVID Vaccine deaths were never really in the news in 2023, nor a Ukraine Collapse.
Inflation has been all over the news. The COLA increase came out on Friday at the high end of projections at 3.2%. I figure inflation was closer to 5% but whatevers. Super inflation was last year.
The impeachment went away because Democrats united with the far right to get rid of the Speaker. Now the executive is acting as though the House doesn’t exist. The impeachment was the laptop so good job Freedom Caucus, you learned the art of fucking yourself.
Global Recession dropped out of the news in June when the World Bank (the ones that started the GR hype) backed off their predictions as well as a few others. China looks bad though.
