I’m confused. I watched a video with a woman being upset over being called a lady, being consoled by someone she kept calling her wife but the wife looked like a dude. A fruity dude to be sure, but a dude. So was the “lady” a lady or another guy playing like a lady? And they were in a gay bar. Seriously, how do people get angry over others not understanding their weirdo personal choices and saying something “wrong” (as they define wrong)? Every one of these videos should start with “I know I’m something you see in narrow parts of society at a rate of maybe 1% but I’m xxxxx. Sorry it’s so confusing to you normal people.”

Well, that policy is based in incorrect information and is therefore invalid.
The Gadsden Flag was not based on slavery in any way. In fact there is another version of this flag where the snake is stretched out on a field of red and white stripes; this was the first Navy Jack. It was a warning to the British, and Pirates not to take the Colonial Navy lightly. The Gadsden Flag was a recreation of this Naval warning, stating in clear words; “Do not tread upon the Colonial Rebel, or you should be bitten like a coiled snake”.

Very much as YOU were being bitten by that well spoken mother.

They didn’t say it was based on slavery but had origins there.

Christopher Gadsden owned hundreds of slaves on two rice plantations and was involved heavily in the slave trade. About 1/3 of the slaves brought into South Carolina went through Gadsden Wharf in Charleston.

It would seem that we need to hit the factory reset on everything! History is not pretty! It just is what it is. Anyone can find something wrong with anything. Kinda hard to find anything in pre-civil war US history that slavery didn’t touch in some way. Should we just delete it all? Or learn it so we don’t repeat it?

None of which makes that flag a symbol of slavery, and none of which allows the school board to come up with a policy that is based on an outright lie. To punish a kid for violating a lie is just plain wrong, and reeks of it’s own form of racism.
