In the Spring of 2022, Paul Bryant, the subject of a Lehi Police investigation was being interviewed, he introduced a 16-page document into the criminal investigation where he accused one of the women who reported him for being in their HOA park with his dog around children of being a “liar.”
2News Investigates obtained that document and excerpts from police body camera footage during the investigation where he bragged about his secretive military past.
Through countless records requests and a months-long exhaustive search for answers from the United States Army, we uncovered the elite military background he claimed to have only exists in his mind.
His real military occupational specialty was far from what he boasted about to the Lehi Police sergeant who was investigating him for alleged violations of the sex offender registry for not disclosing he was HOA president and for being in the park among children.

The following caused me to scratch my head a bit…
Stolen Valor doesn’t only apply to people falsely claiming to have served in the military or claiming military awards like the Purple Heart, it also applies to those who embellish what their duties were in the military.
I’ve always said that there is a formal “upper case” Stolen Valor – outlined by the Stolen Valor Act of 2013. You know, Silver Star, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, CIB, Bronze Star, etc.
Then, there is what I call the “lower case” stolen valor – falsely claiming Navy SEAL, EOD, sniper, Combat Engineer, Military Police (or “Po-Po” in civilian street slang), Airborne Ranger, a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker.
Then, there are the cases of people claiming they were in “the suck” and they weren’t. This is ambiguous to me as to whether it is stolen valor uppercase or lowercase – if someone claims to have been in Grenada and they were stateside, is that a claim of combat (i.e. CIB or CAR)?

I like your definitions of “upper” and “Lower” case SV. They’re usually intertwined, though. Most committing the former will claim to have been “101st Recon Delta SEAL Ranger”, while the latter will often claim combat and valor awards.
As for Grenada, that hits close to home. My brother was there, and I heard him tell some of his friends about running through machine gun fire and having his best friend killed next to him. Tough stuff to go through, except…
I had just turned five years old when Urgent Fury kicked off, and my brother’s nearly 10-1/2 years older than me, so the math doesn’t add up. Oh, and he enlisted in 1985, so that really doesn’t add up. It’s been nearly 30 years since I heard that story, and for some odd reason he’s never brought it up since. Like so many others, he turned his time with the 29th Infantry Regiment at Benning and in Berlin Brigade into Ranger and “Recon” assignments. I need to find his DD-214; a certain Recruiter I once knew filed for it when he allegedly tried joining years ago. From what I recall, he went through Jump School and served in the two aforementioned assignments, but never made it past E4 or even earned an EIB before getting his OTH in the early ’90s.
Let’s bring back an old punishment for SV…. Blowing From A Gun. Make it a public spectacle and air it on the news.

Based on what I read in the article, Mr Bryant speaks of overtime pay in the military.
