Football game shooting: Jacksonville police wound 15-year-old after shots fired into crowd
Teresa Stepzinski, Jacksonville Florida Times-Union
Jacksonville police shot a juvenile who they said fired a gun into a crowd leaving the First Coast vs. Ribault high school football game when it was called off in the third quarter Friday night after fights broke out inside the stadium. The youth was taken to the hospital with a bullet graze to the head and a gunshot wound to the lower torso, Alan Parker, Sheriff’s Office chief of investigations, said at the scene.
Information wasn’t available about his condition, and there were no reports as of Saturday afternoon of any other injuries at the game. It marks yet another shooting at a Jacksonville high school football game over several years.
The Sheriff’s Office later identified the boy as a 15-year-old, but the Times-Union is not naming him because of his age and no one else was hurt. He has been charged with discharging a firearm on school property and carrying a concealed firearm.
Parker said the shooting happened about 9 p.m. near the Duval Station and Starratt roads, which is on the perimeter of the First Coast campus.

Didn’t really need affirmation of my desire to stay far from Jax, yet here we are. Thanks again for the link, Gun Bunny.
We do not understand democracy in its bourgeois meaning – of babbling, lack of discipline, anarchy. We understand democracy as the active participation of the citizens in formulating and implementing the party’s policy.

I wish I still had mine.
Someone needs to whup that kid’s parents.
But from what I understand, that applies to a large number of parents in certain areas.
The usual suspect, with the usual (lack of) upbringing, doing the usual things. I’m out of shocked faces.
Good thing we have a Constitutional Republic instead of a democracy. The Uniparty will save us from the rabble.
A pistol caliber rifle…What will they think of next? Maybe Messrs. Winchester and Colt should look into doing this?
About 140 years ago? All those 1873 Winchesters were pistol cartridge guns, you could carry the same .44 cartridge for both.
Move right on up to the head of the class. But, then again, I knew you’d pick up on my /s/.
My 1892 is technically a pistol caliber carbine, in .38 WCF. Maybe I’ll luck into an 1873 revolver in the same chambering… I’ve also got the PC Carbine with Glock mag well installed for interchangeability with the Glock 17 and 45. Sorry, the Ruger Security-9 proved to be unreliable enough to become a future abuse gun. Oh, and my remaining 1894 is chambered for .45 Colt and a good complement for the Vaquero. Some crackhead decided my .30-30 was better suited for a binge over 10 years ago…
That scorpion is a great gun!
It is my favorite out of my whole collection.
It can make hits t out to 100 yards, yet it is still fun to shoot in an air-conditioned indoor range
