Cook County Sheriff’s deputy fires shot during attempted break-in at Roseland apartment

CHICAGO (CBS)– A Cook County Sheriff’s deputy scared off someone trying to break into her home Wednesday morning in Rosleand when she shot at the suspect.

Chicago police said shortly after 4:00 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was inside a home in the 11400 block of South King Drive when she heard someone trying to get in through a window.

She fired one shot, and the suspect ran off. No one was injured.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a deputy was involved.

Wondering what the sight-picture for hearing someone might be but to be fair, I don’t live in Chiraq.

HPD officer chases down armed burglary suspect, shoots him during fight in Kingwood area
“It’s sad. It’s tough on our officers. And this suspect, I always say it, he has a family. We never know what motivates somebody to start a criminal life.”

HOUSTON — A Houston police officer shot and killed an armed burglary suspect during a fight Friday afternoon, according to HPD.

Police said a homeowner called 911 at 4:54 p.m. after their security system alerted them to an intruder. Officers arrived at the home at 4:57 p.m. and found two suspects in the homeowner’s backyard. They took off in different directions and officers gave chase.

Houston police Chief Troy Finner said one suspect jumped a few fences before getting into a fight with the officer. The suspect allegedly displayed a weapon, but it’s unclear whether he shot it. The officer fired his gun at least once and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fight happened on Woodland Grove Drive, which is off Kingwood Drive in the Kingwood area.

The officer sustained minor injuries but is OK.

KHOU!

KHOU missed the real story here- Police Chief Finner doesn’t know what motivates crime.

Graphic.

I don’t think that it was the pitter patter of little feet that the female deputy was hearing.

Lack of proper home training is the motivation for these bad actors.

FA&FO…Live and in color.

Wondering why we are tolerating all of the unnecessary evil that is in grubermint.

“Belt Artillery” heh heh And it comes with an earth shattering KA-BOOOOOM!

Is that a come hither look Ms Thang is giving me? Seems to be a shadow in the valley. Kinda makes one want to “reach out and touch”.

Ooops, Bat Signal flashing, gotta catch that.

In the first video I was struck how nonchalant the guy in the chair was. It’s like shootouts happen all the time in his hotel room. Then again freezing and not moving at all looks like it worked out in his favor more than his buddy there.

The second, the chase was kinda silly. I mean where did that dude think he was going to get to? Secondly, when looking at multiple rifles pointing at your azz, dontcha think doing what the nice Officers / Troopers say would be a good idea…
