New Details: Man shoots, kills aggressor attacking three women in hotel
By Megan Boyd
WACO, Texas (KWTX) – A man is dead after police say a bystander shot and killed him when he heard three women calling for help inside a room at Hotel Indigo on 211 Clay Ave. The shooter cooperated with police and was not arrested.Police say it started around 3 a.m. when a man staying at the hotel heard people yelling for help in the hallway.
He found a room where a man was in a fight with three women. Police say in a press release, the bystander tried to help, but it upset the “original aggressor”.
The original aggressor attacked the bystander, which prompted the bystander to fire one shot at the original aggressor.

Talk about no good deed going unpunished- BZ to the bystander for stepping in.

1 winning $1 Billion PowerBall ticket.
Bought at a slummy market in a bad area of L.A, near Skid Row.
Expect Jerry Springer Show antics when the winner(s) surface.

Best move out of state ASAP before Kalifornication seizes it all for “reasons”.
Equity!
California already rips off the lower big prize winners.
The 5/5 Powerball winners in CA don’t get $1 million.
For this drawing, they get only $448,750.
Notice the 1st line in the fine print at the link below.

Cash value of lottery tix is always lower than estimated 20 year payout.
David,
That’s NOT cash value post tax or net.
That’s California exception GROSS pay out.
California runs MUTUEL on the mid and high prizes.
Here’s the prize chart for all states BUT California.

In California, prize payout amounts are pari-mutuel and determined by sales and the number of winners. (end paste)

It would be interesting to know the back story on “three women and a corpse”.
Unsatisfied John?
Asshole pimp?
Drug deal gone wrong?
Someone off their meds?
Someone on booze/dope?
Domestic violence? (Which woman was the ex-girlfriend/ex-wife?)
Hookup gone wrong?
Stalker?
Totally random?
And who was the true guilty person that started the fight? The deceased dude? Or one of the women?
“The world may never know.”
A decent writer could have fun spinning stories about each of these scenarios.
Tox, the answer(s) to your question(s) is…yes! Hey, we just snag ’em and post ’em. Don’t even try to ‘splain ’em.
“Good afternoon, Mi’ Lady, please allow me to get the door for you. BTW, that’s a nice Lady Smith you have there.” “Why Thank you, kind Sir. I admire your 1911.” Make manners great again.
Doncha just love it when our Beloved AW1Ed throws an American Rifleman Linky out there to distract his Gun Bunny? Well played there, Kid Squid (ht2 ol’ poe). Mission accomplished! Gotta love it, too, when the 1873 Winchester is depicted in a Cowboy picture that is set in the time frame well before 1873. *sigh*
This one was just bizarre enough, just musing out loud.
If I were ever to get a serious answer, I’d drop from surprise.
Don’t worry; I have 911 on speed-dial.
Well, that is not as bad as all those Hollywierd Westerm TV shows and movies where the rifles and carbines are invariably 1892 model Winchesters, when the shows’ time setting is the 1870’s pr 1880’s. Western Costume Company in LA must have had hundreds of ’92’s. I have one of their 1873 Trapdoor cavalry carbines that was likely a prop in dozens of horse operas (Western movies and TV shows). The Italian made Winchester 1873 lever gun repro is the long gun of choice for serious Cowboy Action Shooters.
A Quentin Terrantino movie in the making….complete with “N-words”.
1873 Winchester in 357/38….
There, but for a lack of budget, go I…..
The original is relatively cheap and easy to reload. I have loaded a lot of 30-40 and except for the now almost non existent large pistol primers and the thin case necks it is very economical. Lots of cast lead bullets available and a 1# can of Unique will load a lot of rounds.
I think you mean 38-40. I used to shoot that caliber in two of my CAS rifles and a pair of Colt SAA pistols. I stopped shooting my Winchester ’92 saddle ring carbine in CAS matches when I discovered what it was worth.
Yes, 38-40. The rifles aren’t worth more, Your Biteme money is worth less . Every day worth less and less. Pretty soon a back pack of cash will buy a box of .22s .
No, my 1906 made saddle ring carbine was worth over $4000 ten years ago, long before the Bidenflation of the last 2.5 years.
I have a few old Winchesters. One is a 73. I wonder where I can get an honest value appraisal.
Go buy a copy of the “Blue Book of Gun Values” by S.P. Fjestad. Mine is ten years out of date. But ten years ago, depending upon model and condition, an all original one with 95% original finish could be worth over $7500.
One used to be able to buy 1873 Italian made repos in .357 or .45 cal for about $800. Now the cheapest ones are over $1200. I have an 1866 in .44 special that I bought for about $700, but that was 24 years ago.
I wonder what they did to toughen up the toggle action to withstand all that added pressure.
All the top shooters have aftermarket toggle links and the stroke of the lever has been shortened. Everyone shoots low power reloads that only shoot at around 800 feet per second, so the toggle links don’t get that much pressure.
I wonder if the name of the dude that was shot was named Upgrayedd
That or LTC Collins.
First name Tom?????
I spent an evening with Tom Collins once…I don’t remember a fucking thing about it.
