President Trump delays big Iran attack and provides two-week extension
President Donald Trump gave Iran until 8 p.m. to come to a deal, or they would see massive destruction. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir reached out, asking for a two-week delay. Trump took to Truth Social to announce a double-sided ceasefire, postponing the bombing for two weeks. This would give negotiators to work on a framework towards a deal. President Trump claimed that Iran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz and that the United States accomplished its military objectives.
From Newsmax:
Trump said the pause is conditional on Iran agreeing to the “complete, immediate, and safe opening” of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit chokepoint that has been at the center of escalating tensions.
The president framed the move as a sign that U.S. military objectives have already been achieved, saying Washington has “met and exceeded all military objectives” and is now focused on finalizing a broader diplomatic agreement.
Trump said the United States has received a “10-point proposal” from Iran that he described as a “workable basis” for negotiations, adding that “almost all” major points of contention between the two sides have already been resolved.
He said the two-week window is intended to allow negotiators to “finalize and consummate” what he called a “definitive agreement concerning long-term peace with Iran, and peace in the Middle East.”
Trump also suggested the agreement would have wider regional implications, saying he was acting “on behalf of the United States” while also representing broader Middle East interests.

Just heard it on newsmax
I like Newsweek’s take on it. They are a bit centrist and more pragmatic than 90% of the media out there that is either left or right.
Iran may be proving Trump right—and that’s the problem
Either way, Brent Crude dropped $18 a barrel between last night and this morning.
Great N a l, now I can go to sleep under an oil truck and get up oily in the morning.
A nice, slick joke there!
I thought it was a little crude.
What shall we do with the drunken sailor oily in the morning?
Worked with a guy that went into the Army back in the 1930’s and was a horse soldier. He mentioned bugle calls and the above sounded like the above but with a drunken soldier.
Back in the horse cavalry days, the morning was governed by bugle calls. Wake up was “first call,” followed by “reveille,” then “stable call,” followed by “breakfast call,” then “boots and saddles” and “stand to horse” (where you fall in formation with your saddled horse). After the orders for the day are announced, the oral commands of “prepare to mount” and “mount” were given. In making the movie, “Gettysburg,” our cavalry squadron of Civil War reenactors did it every day for almost two weeks. Our bugler, a professional musician, knew and could perform every known bugle call. It was quite an experience. After the first few days we were a well drilled military unit.
One of my infantry reenactor acquaintances said he was on the road we used to ride to the movie set about a mile or two from our camp. He said he could first hear the thundering hooves of our 75 horses at the trot. Then he saw us in column four abreast coming around a bend. He said it was a sight to behold, and he felt he had been transported back in time to 1863.
I don’t believe anything that comes out of the mouth of muslim.
The koran teaches its perfectly acceptable to lie to unbelievers and infidels.
It’s referred to as “taquiya”.
Indeed.

Not to be confused with Tequila
But Tequila will always tell you things like:
She really wants you.
You’re the greatest Dancer that ever was.
You’re the greatest Casanova that ever was.
You can beat her boyfriend’s ass.
You really can kick the Bouncer’s ass.
They really do want to hear you sing karaoke shitfaced.
I’m rich.
I’m good looking.
I’m bulletproof.
I’m invisible.
One Tequila, two Tequila, three Tequila – four, five tequila, six Tequila, seven Tequila, floor!
It was too much tequila
or not quite enough
Soju, too:

No argument from me!!
Been there, was told about that 😐 since I didn’t remember.
2ID 92-93, Jinro was pretty much liquid Article 15!
Yeehah!
[2] That isn’t a definition of Taqiyya found anywhere in the Koran. While Shia and Sunni approach this topic differently they both agree it isn’t the norm or used to draw unbelievers out to defeat them. This is some kind of western fantasy. Feel free to prove me wrong by citing a source in the Koran.
Shia believe that lying is justified when under threat of death, torture, or persecution. Sunni believe that lying can be justified under an immediate threat of death. The exception in the Sunni being the Palestinians. Their cooperation with the Shia for their unique situation has prompted them to consider themselves under constant persecution so they pretty much lie about everything to everyone regardless of faith.
It’s just not that cut and dried.

Like any other religious guidance, it’s open to interpretation to suit the need. It’s human nature.
Things never are.

Like left/libtards, they do WTF they want. …or P.T. Barnum saying it’s morally wrong to allow suckers to keep their money. Something like that.
The concept is nested in the Quran, not expressly stated as a religious concept.
It does appear in various hadiths, which serve as a source of guidance that helps to clarify and provide context to Islamic teachings and practices for Muslims alongside the Quran.
Reminds me of Joe Isuzu
Kind of like moral relativism. Or being a socialist liberal democrat.
Yes. They seem to have that concept in common, in that they both think it is OK to lie to one’s opponents.
Although the Leftists never realize they’re the “useful idiots” there.

When one does not believe in a God Who is Absolutely True and establishes absolute truth, anything goes.
Here’s hoping it’s for real and the Iranian top echelons (What’s left of them) will hold up to what they say, maybe they’ll comply from fear of getting vaporized?
I can hear it now… Hey Achmed, poke your head out there to see if its safe to fire off missiles…, wait, throw rocks at somebody. You’re low man on the list, so, after you.
Ahhh, picking on ole Achmed….haven’t heard that name in a while. LOL
Its the only middle eastern name that came immediately to mind, and easiest to spell.
I wonder if Jeff Dunham minds me using one of his characters.
Speaking of common Middle Eastern names: We had an interpreter in Iraq named Muhammad (go figure). Whenever he would make a mistake, people would tell him “It’s all good. You’re still our first favorite Muhammad.”
Two weeks is just enough time to get the ordnance restocked.
If I was the CinC, I wouldn’t have said we met all of our military objectives because now we will hear the screech of “war crimes” for every future bomb dropped for any reason. We will hear screeching anyway, but I don’t want to hear that particular screech.
Any accurate history would present this as Iran blinking but instead we will hear all sorts of stupid uninformed crap from people with an opinion and a bias but no facts. Now if only the Iranian people would grab their balls and do their part in this whole goat rope.
Something I read today indicated that firearms had been made available to civilians in Iran but someone didn’t follow through with getting them to the intended recipients.
Sorry to see Trump get suckered in with this 11th hour “deal”. Better that he would put it all back in motion at Iran’s first light and attribute it to a “technical glitch”.
OTOH, maybe a city-size nuclear device can be custom made for Tehran during the interim. They can test it on Dearborn and make any adjustments while Tehran buries their dead.
Sheesh, another story, today, states that the population of Iran is about 93 million.
Kick the can down the road, again. Impotent half-measures.
The Iranian mullahs and their bootlickers will likely violate the ceasefire and whatever they promise to do. Then there will be a resumption of hostilities. In the meantime, the deployed folks will have an opportunity to rest and rearm.

Can I get a two week extension on filing my income tax?
Asking for a friend.
File the form getting the automatic extension, but you will still have to pay any estimated taxes by April 15th to avoid penalties and interest.
Unconditional surrender to avoid being obliterated is the only way this “deal” would actually be worth a shit.
Enemies that “negotiate” a deal usually do so from a position of weakness while they try and sort out a way to negotiate themselves back to full strength.
When your enemy is down, it is wise to step on their neck and end them. An enemy incapable of fighting back is the best kind of enemy…one that can plot revenge under cover of negotiation is one that will stab you in the back.
When your enemy is dead there is one story, when they live and plot there will always be two stories and with as many stupid people as there are in the world today both stories will have their believers.
Since Iran didn’t wait long to violate the ceasefire, I don’t think they’re negotiating from a position of good faith.
https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/iran-news/article-892352
Have they ever?
Worked on Japan.
We’ve waited 47 years, what’s two more weeks? Smart money says Iran fucks this up in less than 72 hours.
Well, that aged poorly. I don’t think it took 72 minutes.
The terms the iranians agreed to are somewhat vague. They are STILL maintaining control of the straits when they say every ship must contact and coordinate with them before attempting passage. They also did not specify if the main commercial channel is being opened or just the one that goes around the island under their “guns” like the few ships that passed the week before.
I don’t see this as a good faith agreement at all, unless and until the remove the mines in the main channel at the very least. I do not see this being over until they cede control of the straits.
I also saw they fired missiles into Israel AFTER they agreed to a cease fire and capitulation with Trump’s negotiating team.
I think probably their communications are as fragmented with their various units as that bridge we have seen so much of. Trump says he is going to charge a toll with the Iranians on passage thru the straight. Gotta love that guy!
They not only fired missiles into Israel, the Iranians fired them and drones into most of the gulf states and Saudia Arabia.
Even before the ceasefire, the Iranians pissed literally everyone else in the Middle east off at them!
I am a big fan of President Trump and his team. I hope he is right with this cease fire but my experience with ceasefire is from 1968 ,69 and that only lead to reorganization and rearmament and resumption of attack . Maybe we have better surveillance of Iran than we had of Vietnamese Nam back in those days. I also pay attention to what Gen. Keene has to say and all I can do is hope for the best outcome.
This seems to have been a huge scam.
Trump insider traded and took a massive short position on oil futures just before announcing the “tentative” cease fire deal.
Trump made $175,000,000.00 on the trade. And this is not the first time he has done this, made tweets to alarm and calm markets while taking massive positions in the market profit off his power to move markets using a truth social post.
That being said, the ten point plan Trump agreed to is a total capitulation to ever Iran demand: so American blood and treasure, and lives were squandered, and the ONLY people that came out better and Trump and a few insiders that made money buying and shorting oil prices during the crisis Trump created.
I am just glad Israel is pissed. Iran came out better off and Israel fucked US public support for Israel.
Support they are not going to be able to earn back for a generation.
With all the money Trump is spending on the new White House grand ballroom, he needs the income.
Let’s go count Pelosi’s insider gains.
I paid $5.29 gal this morning for hi octane gasoline.
Up more than .10 since yesterday.
Where is the breaking point and how will know that we have
reached it Oh mighty predictor of all things political?
Show me the proof, list your sources. Once again, I’m calling you a fraud and a liar. Defend your position. Your word as an officer and a gentleman ain’t worth a pinch of shit. Your “knowledge” is regurgitation of what you’re told to say. Back up your claims, stand for something just once in your life.
He just reads left-wing propaganda and regurgitates it; his “sources,” if any, are bullshit, as we have repeatedly seen before.
The voices in his head are not considered legitimate sources.
True dat.
I just poke the voices in my head with a Q-tip until they stop.
Axios, BBC, New York Times, Reddit, Vox, Slate, HuffPo, Salon, and so on.
He won’t cite his sources he knows he’ll get shredded if he offers any of it as a source of fact. He also knows well that the sources he gets his news from are all leftist activist propaganda outlets devoid of any journalism.
He and his fellow travelers don’t care because they have as much integrity as the platforms they get their information from.
As far as I know, he has never cited a source. Like a seagull manager, he flies in, makes a lot of noise, shits on everything and leaves.
Care to cite some sources?
Didn’t figure you would!
Do those sources also speak to all of the other inside traders (Biden, Obama, Pelosi, Crenshaw, McConnell, Schiff, Klobuchar, AOC, etc.)
If Trump did give in to Iran, he did nothing different than any of YOUR heros (Obama) have done, so you should be supportive of it!
Try to do better.
Why don’t you stick to favorite echo chamber, ilovetowatchbigdicks@blueanon.com, where you and the other beta-cucks-for-kamala can digitally jerk each other off?
Cite the credible reference without providing a link to Reddit or some other bullshit.
Go.
Just makes him dropping out of UCB instead of seeing it through to completion all the more believable.
Next he will be saying war is a racket.
Seriously though, nothing has been “normal” about the oil market since the war began. In the interest of full disclosure I took some short positions myself. One way or another this thing will be wrapped in the next thirty days or so.
For the record Trump never personally told me he was going to broker a peace deal under threat of bombing Iran back to the stone age.
But he did tell the entire world if that means anything.
“ Iran came out better off..”
Not surprised to find out whose side you’re on. Not at all. Not that it’s hard to figure out to whom your allegiance is.
Douchebag.
Commissar, let me say something positive about you for a change, you do an absolutely outstanding great job of being a completely brainless dipshit!
Already, Iran is f*cking around with the ceasefire. Keep ready for some sh*t to happen.

You can’t trust Hajjis!
Wait. We are stopping the war in Iran?
Why? We are almost done. The Iranian regime will be completely destroyed in another couple weeks if we continue the air campaign!
Who the hell is recommending to Trump to stop now? WTF man.
It’s just a timeout. All guns are still locked, loaded, and pressed to Iran’s forehead. We’ve offered them an out that they will not take. So be it. They can’t say they weren’t warned.
France refusing to pay toll for transit through Strait of Hormuz (may not be “This is Sparta!” and kicking some Persian’s ass into a well, but it’s a start):

Waitaminnit, didn’t they bray that they had already made a deal with the Iranians? Oh well, tuff ka-shitski for them!
Yes, indeed. Buyer’s remorse.
Speaking of Straits, how about some Dire Straits with the
Sultans of Swing?

How about something from the King, George Strait?
