The attack last Friday
Somebody sneaked in our backdoor on Friday morning and tried to interrupt my vacation by goofing up the permalinks so no one could get to the comments. Luckily, I had my laptop with me and unscrewed the initial damage.
Apparently it happened to a lot of WordPress blogs. I think I’ve fixed it and restored the blog to it’s former grandeur. But, while trying to find the culprit (who made himself an invisible Administrator), I deleted a lot of unfamiliar user accounts. If you were a lurker who never posted, your account may be gone. It was nothing personal – I was lurching around trying to find the scummy turd. You only need to register again.
I’m sorry for any confusion I might have caused.

Testing 1, 2, 3.
Whew!!!! I wasn’t considered a scummy turd.
Testing, am I scummy or not?
LW
I am scummy, but certainly no turd 😀
I’m definitely heading for the rain locker just in case.
Radio check, over.
Damn. I never thought they’d catch the guy 7 comments above me.
Testing… testing.
“Son, stop blowing into that mike. You’ll find out that you don’t need to inflate that unit before you use it.”
Testing…1,2,1 and 3/4…
By the way….if you left comments off for a few days we’d have more time to click on the google ads. Have you figured out yet I’m on a mission to help you retire? I wanna come visit in Panama. 🙂
Yep, still a princess!
Jonn,
Most likely it was some backdoor left in WordPress that allowed the access. It may not have been a user visible to you even as the administrator.
I’d drop a line to WordPress about it.
Dan
Just testing…
