Concealed Carrier Shoots Attacker In Cemetery

by KIMBER PEARCE
A concealed carry permit holder who fatally shot an armed attacker will not face criminal charges, says Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele.

The shooting was on March 18, 2023, at a cemetery in Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. Our permit holder was at a birthday celebration for a friend who was killed in 2013.

According to the DA’s press release, Arian Davis, age 33, was sitting in a car at the cemetery with others when 29-year-old Daniel Hawkins approached and began shooting at them.

Davis had a valid concealed carry permit and legally owned a firearm.

Horsham is a Philly ‘burb, which pretty much sums up the place.

Fight Between Brothers in Vista Leads to Shooting, Arrest

by Elizabeth Ireland
A fight between two brothers in Vista Wednesday led to an apparent self-defense shooting that left one of the men wounded and under arrest, authorities said.

The gunfire in the 2000 block of Buena Creek Road was reported at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies determined that one of the combatants, 30-year-old Elias Cruz, allegedly attacked his younger brother with a shovel, prompting the other man to open fire with a handgun to protect himself, Lt. John Spach said.

See, if he had a Spetsnaz shovel…Thanks to our own Gun Bunny and AW1 Rod for the links.

How convenient, shot dead in a cemetary. Just make a hole and put him in.

Homicide in the cemetery, no long lines, no waiting. Just plug ’em and plant ’em.

Shovel to a gun fight.

That may be a new one for “THE BOOK”.

A place near the City of Brotherly Love and a brother that wasn’t showing much love. Dug themselves into quite a mess, didn’t they?

Despotic tyrants don’t concern themselves with running out of other people’s money…they’ll just print some more.

I believe that our Beloved AW1Ed may be showing a family photo. He just likes to poke at us with his Glockiness…even ones that are improperly displayed and missing pieces and parts.

Glock!? What Glock? I don’ see no Glock today. I see a S&W 686. And a beautiful piece of steel it is, too.
Sounds like Gun Bunny is suffering from Recoil Shock (standing too close, too often, to his beloved Rolling Field Arty) to his brainpan and eyeballs.
Hand him a Yuengling beer and a shot of top shelf single malt, place a cold compress over his eyes, the let him rest on the sofa until the effects wear off.

A poke at yesterday’s gun pr0n.

I will take ya up on yore offering of God’s Golden Elixer and a shot…or 3 of malt.

I have been blessed to see our Beloved AW1Ed’s Family foto album of Big Daddy, Mom, and the chill’ren, of which today’s pr0n is lovingly shared. I’ll share a sekrit, jes twixt us….don’t tell nobody…but our Beloved favorite naughtyly inclined Kid Squid not only OWNS works from HMS JMB (HBHN) offerings, he does carry said works. SHHH

Had a 681 (longer barrel) and yes it was a beautiful piece of steel. Very heavy though for a .357
Even if it had not fallen in the ocean my old hands would
struggle just to draw the hammer back for single action.
DA would take both hands now.

Newton’s laws pretty much dictate that if you ant decently fast follow-ups with a full-house .357s, some mass to absorb recoil is advisable. Perhaps the best of the lot is a 3″ round-butt fixed sight model.

As Ed and I have discussed….the five most necessary attributes of an every-day-carry (EDC) gun are reliability, reliability, reliability, reliability, and – wait for it – reliability. Everything else is secondary.

I would add reliability to that list.
