One of our least favorite people, former Major Nidal Hassan, the Ft. Hood (soon to be Ft. Cavazos) shooter who killed 13 servicemen in 2009, is set to appear before the Court of Appealks for the Armed Forces Tuesday for an appeal of his death sentence.
The hearing Tuesday marks the next stage of the case in the drawn-out military appeals process. Regardless of the hearing’s outcome, it remains unclear if and when a decision on execution could be made.
“I would say a lot could happen,” Richard Dieter, the executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, told Military Times.
Once the jury reaches a verdict, the case will likely be appealed to the Supreme Court, Dieter explained. The president must also weigh in with final say on the ex-soldier’s fate. As commander in chief, the president is required to confirm an execution sentence or commute it to what would likely be life in prison.
14 years and counting…the guy’s gonna die of old age before anyone gets around to executing him.

Remember I mentioned that NPR said there was no evidence that undergoing male puberty helped trans female athletes? That lasted a whole three days:
NPR issued an official correction following a story published Friday which argued “there is limited scientific research” supporting the idea that males have a “physical advantage” over females in competitive sports.
“Correction: An earlier tweet incorrectly stated there is limited scientific evidence of physical advantage. Existing research shows that higher levels of testosterone do impact athletic performance.
They go on to waffle, saying the research on elite trans athletes in competition is limited. Ask all those who swam against Lia Thomas, or rode bikes against Tiffany Thomas or Rachel McKinnon. (I did find an article supporting Lia Thomas by the way, citing Izsac Henning – another transgender female swimmer. “Girls” gotta stick together.)

Remember Whipgate? Those mean Border Patrol agents supposedly whipping Haitian immigrants on the Texas border? Subsequent investigation showed those accusations to be groundless, but that isn’t stopping the pols from trying to prosecute Border Patrol agents for it.
“We write to you regarding the apparent attempt by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to use an unprecedented process to discipline agents from the U.S. Border Patrol’s Del Rio Horse Patrol Unit,” Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, Oversight Chairman James Comer and Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green said in a letter to acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller. “We expect your cooperation with our oversight.”
The chairmen said they have learned that the disciplinary action the agents will face over the incident may not be decided by the Border Patrol chief or a supervisor or sector chief — and instead may be determined by a “senior executive” with no experience in Border Patrol or law enforcement.
“We can only conclude that CBP is considering an official without Border Patrol or law enforcement experience as a decision maker to protect the agent’s political accountable superiors — the President, the Vice President, and the Secretary of Homeland Security — for their inaccurate and defamatory statements,” they wrote.
At this point the head of CBP, Raul Ortiz, is being a stand-up guy and defending his agents. Three cheers for him!

WRT Hassan I oppose the death penalty for him. The motherfucker is in a wheel chair and is in extreme pain every day.
I hope he lives for a hundred years in agony and never sees anything except concrete walls and steel bars.
And this deviant did not do most of her shooting with an “assault rifle” or AR15. The gun she had in her hands in all the videos is the KelTech carbine that is either 9 mm luger or .40 S&W caliber.
