An armed intruder in Florida is dead after barging into a home this week and being shot by an elderly woman who was armed herself. In a Facebook post, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said that 64-year-old Reginald Best of Interlachen, Florida was killed after he stormed into the home of a 67-year-old woman at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.
The woman said that she heard the door handle of her home shaking at around 3 a.m. and thought it was her husband coming home from work so she got up and opened the door. At that point, authorities say Best barged in with a gun in hand.
“The woman who was armed with a firearm told Best to leave the residence multiple times,” police said.
“The woman told deputies Best raised up both arms and she saw he had a firearm in his hand. Fearing for her life, she shot Best one time.

Heh, she certainly did. Amazing cool- I’d have likely done the opposite. Warned once and shot multiple times, that is.

Both the perps have something in common (besides the obvious). They both FAFO.
Good for granny for taking out the senior trash.
But I have to wonder if his was a case of Rx drugs (not taken/wrong ones) + dementia. But when you have a gun waving in your direction, it’s not the time to be a psychiatrist.
And one shot? Granny, you are a GO at this station. No further range time needed.
Go Granny, Go Granny, Go Granny, GO! Mr. Best had best work on his victim selection skilz. Oh…wait…too late Best FGS of the week.
The restless native struck out when thrown a curve by her opponent that brought a firearm to a baseball bat fight. Not very sporting, eh?

Need to check the Encyclopedia of Things to Not Bring to a Gun Fight and see if “baseball bat” is already printed in it. If not, the Encyclopedia needs to be annotated.
At this point, the Encyclopedia should be a set of 3″ loose leaf binders with clear sleeves, makes it easier to add and edit.
Bring a baseball bat to a gunfight– Darwin Award material, knife would’ve been more classic though.
