WAUKEGAN, IL — A man was fatally shot with his own gun Wednesday in Waukegan during a struggle with officers investigating a stolen car, authorities said.

Waukegan police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Grand Avenue shortly before 2:15 p.m. as part of a stolen vehicle investigation, according to Illinois State Police.

As officers arrived, a 32-year-old man tried to flee, state police said.

Citing the preliminary results of an investigation, police said the man pulled out a gun while fighting with officers.

“During the struggle, the subject’s firearm discharged and the subject was shot,” according to a statement from state police, which said Waukegan police did not fire their guns.

Jefferson County man faces charges for firing at thieves

By Russell Kinsaul
Charges are being sought against a 39-year-old Jefferson County man after he opened fire on thieves who had been breaking into cars. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the man fired several times toward a 2014 Nissan Versa driving on Ozark Lane, which is near Highway 21 and south of Fenton.

The man’s name has not been released because he hasn’t been charged. The occupants of the Nissan had been breaking into cars in the neighborhood. The man’s wife told News 4 that her husband only fired warning shots.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Nissan was found later after it was abandoned and it was determined that the vehicle was stolen. Also, there were three bullet holes in the Nissan.

People might be fed up with the level of theft from cars and car thefts across the region, but self-defense and conceal and carry instructor, Steve Sulze, cautions that the law only allows limited use of deadly force.

In Biden’s case, that’s a low bar to hurdle.

Does one “hurdle” down?

Most folks would have to go to a deep cave to get low enough to start to match Hunter.

“…opened an investigation into the circumstances…” Dumbass couldn’t run, couldn’t fight, and couldn’t handle a firearm. He’s dead, Jim…Good riddance. Case closed!

Give the citizen a medal and some range time. If he had of put the “warning shots” into the perps, then the gene pool would be a little cleaner today….and their friends would have been warned.
