Well, it had to happen some day.
Safety pundits are questioning whether gas ranges can emit harmful gases, thereby putting home-owners at risk. Various ideas have been floated, such as banning gas ranges (unworkable, there are ‘way too many) to banning future installation. Given the long history of more or less safe usage of gas ranges, it seems a bit of overreaction, and many folks from foodies through all walks of life have spoken up calling gas range bans ridiculous.
Enter AOC:

While I have an electric range in my house because that’s the way it was designed, I prefer gas ranges. My mother had a gas range the entire time she lived in my childhood home. I think the climate hoaxers are just making shit up about gas stoves.
It is a thinly disguised assault on the petrochemical industry.

Seems I recall an occasional death by gas stove while growing
up in the Boston area early 50’s.

Banned in California
They are just banned in Berkeley, the canary in the coal mine of all things psychotic left.
In Burlington VT they banned gas powered leaf blowers, it was in Bernie’s Neiborhood.
He wanted to be the only annoying loud wind bag.
In Commiefornia, the legislature passed a law banning sale of all gasoline powered yard tools by next year.
Thank God they’ve got such a robust electrical grid and such good wildfire prevention techniques that they don’t have to turn off electricity to keep from sparking a wildfire.
Self-reliance will be declared “unsafe” for us next.

You forgot the silent majority which I am a member of which is one step behind the Baby Boomers. ( silent majority-1945 and below, Boomers 1946 and later)
Gas is cheaper and uses less energy if you have a non-pilot stove, as most are these days. The heat is instant and the efficiency is near 100% with a small amount lost to light emmission.
If you run your range hood fan, as you should, no matter what you cook with, all the emmission get sucked out of the house.
It’s interesting they didn’t go after vent free gas logs first. They produce much more emmissions in your home. Biden’s handlers probably got his cue cards mixed up.
Gas is also much more energy efficient than electric.

I’ve noticed that, over the last 30 years or so, government has gone from a law making, or regulatory function, to one of simply banning anything that comes up against their current distaste meter.
No consideration of long (or even short) term consequences; just BAN it.

My assault oven is American made by Whirlpool, 5 burner, 2 of them power burners, and an accu-simmer. Scary black with stainless steel trim. Great big oven cavity ready to handle the largest beast or my oversized cast iron cookware. You paying attention OAM?
