Pasco deputy shoots, injures suspect in New Port Richey

A Pasco sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a suspect who opened fire on deputies in New Port Richey early Wednesday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.Joseph Nathaniel Midkiff, 34, was hit in the elbow and taken to HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital to be treated for injuries that deputies said were not life threatening. Midkiff was arrested on multiple charges including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
The shooting happened after deputies responded about 2:20 a.m. to a call about a suspected stolen Honda motorcycle near the intersection of Rowan Road and Kauai Loop, according to arrest affidavits. Deputies saw the Honda about 10 feet away from a moving van in a parking lot. Midkiff was standing on the back bumper of the van, the affidavits state.
When a deputy ordered Midkiff to show his hands, Midkiff took off running along a sidewalk toward Rowan Road. During the foot chase, the affidavits state, Midkiff fired one round from a semi-automatic handgun.

FWPD: Man leaves suspected home intruder with gunshot wound

A man shot an alleged home intruder Wednesday morning, leaving the other man in non life-threatening condition, according to police.At approximately 7:00 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at a home along the 1900 block of Hillside Avenue.
Police said a man called dispatch saying he had shot someone reportedly attempting to break into his residence.
After authorities arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the entryway of the residence.

A Georgia man’s attempt to rob a business in the early hours of Christmas morning went awry when employees fended off the suspect, sending him slipping on ice and hitting his head on the ground, according to the Gainesville Police Department.Luis Sajbocho-Ordonez, 30, is now facing armed robbery and aggravated assault charges.
The incident, which police likened to a “scene out of ‘Home Alone,'” began around 1:00 a.m. on Christmas morning.
Sajbocho-Ordonez was allegedly hiding behind a business in Gainesville, which is about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, and pulled a gun on an employee who walked outside.
The employee got into a physical altercation with Sajbocho-Ordonez, who allegedly fired a shot after another worker exited the building and spooked him.
Sajbocho-Ordonez then allegedly tried to flee the scene but slipped on a frozen patch and hit his head.

Hopefully Mr Midkiff can be thankful that he wasn’t hit in his midriff.
The only way that the second story (Ft Wayne, IN) could be any better is if the perp’s status were changed from wounded (0/1/0) to deceased (1/0/0).
