Eric Schwartzberg, Springfield News-Sun, Ohio
At the request of the Springfield Police Division, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Sunday morning at the corner of Selma Road and East Street.

Police responded to the Sunoco gas station at 720 Selma Road at 7:29 a.m. following a report of a man showing a gun and attempting to enter the building, the city of Springfield said Sunday afternoon in a release.

Minutes after officers arrived, the armed suspect confronted police and shots were fired.

The suspect, an adult white male, was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, then taken by helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital.

His condition remained unknown Sunday afternoon.

Video: Nashville police fatally shoot man with knife; second police shooting in 24 hours

Josh Keefe, Nashville Tennessean
Metro Nashville Police officers shot and killed a man who charged at them with a knife Saturday evening. The fatal shooting was the second of the day by MNPD officers.

Early Sunday morning, MNPD released body camera footage of officers confronting and eventually shooting a man on River Road Pike in Nashville shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation later identified the man as Drandon John Brown, 64. The two officers at the scene, Ryan Thomas and Cameron Vendermerwe, were responding to 911 calls reporting a man swinging tree branches at passing cars. Both Thomas and Vendermerwe joined the department in 2021, according to MNPD spokesperson Brooke Reese.

Early Saturday morning, police shot and killed Senquarius Demonta Williams, 26, in Madison after he walked toward a taped-off crime scene where police were standing and began shooting at officers. MNPD released body cam footage of that shooting Saturday morning. Both shootings are under investigation by both the MNPD and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Body camera footage of the later shooting on River Road Pike shows that roughly a minute passed between the time when officers made contact with Brown and when they fatally shot him.

I’d hate to have it seize up, burn a bearing, and start a fire.

The name is Senquarius Demonta Williams.
And normally I might say something about Demonta = dementia…….but nah, I won’t go there.

I do believe both Nashville and Houston are run by the same cabal.
And their citizens have learned to defend themselves, and the LEOs are having to find some permanent solutions to criminal activity.

Concerning the beautiful Sharps rifle:

The Second Battle of Adobe Walls in 1874 earned the Sharps rifle more popularity due to the rifle’s accuracy. A battle brewed between Comanche forces and bison hunters in Texas. Men like Bat Masterson, William “Billy” Dixon, and Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, son of Cynthia Ann Parker, were among the men there during the battle. The battle went on for many hours at close range with sixteen casualties. After three days, Comanche forces rode out to survey the situation and it is said that Billy Dixon fired a shot at almost a mile away with a Sharps long range rifle that killed a Comanche warrior on horseback.

David

Sadly, the Billy Dixon story was discredited years back, the actual shot (still impressive) was less than 700 yards. Believe they said that in the direction cited for the shot, a rise would have rendered the target invisible to the shooter at any further range.

Thanks for showing the Sharps, proves my contention that the Ruger #1 is fine looking…but not #1.

So what if the story was discredited? Seven hundred yards, for that time, with those weapons, even now is impressive and not to be sneezed at.

Too bad the Ohio perp didn’t take a Pinochet chopper ride.

Whiz Wheel®™ spins:

Drandon John Brown (BLDAM/DRT) 33 x 5 = 165

Senquarius Demonta Williams (BLDAM/DRT) 42 x 5 = 210

 👍 Thx Claw.
Don’t mean to impose on ya so much. but as the sole owner and operator of The Whiz Wheel…….

No imposition. It’s all good. Anybody can call for a spin anytime.

Mick

I thought for sure that Senquarius Demonta Williams would score a lot higher than a 210!
