More than one rock involved here.
‘Armed encounter’ ends with officer shooting and killing teen, North Carolina cops say
Simone Jasper
An “armed encounter” ended with an officer shooting and killing a teenage boy in Eastern North Carolina, officials said. Now, an officer with the Jacksonville Police Department has been put on administrative leave as the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation looks into the shooting, according to Chief Mike Yaniero.
The 17-year-old boy died after police said they tried to make a traffic stop at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
“Officers with the Jacksonville Police Department witnessed a vehicle passing vehicles in the center turn lane and make a U-turn in front of oncoming traffic,” Yaniero said during a news conference that was posted to Facebook. “The officers turned on their lights and siren and attempted to stop the vehicle. After a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed on White Street.”
Near the car, officials said there was an “armed encounter.” A Jacksonville police officer then fired his gun at someone who had been inside the car.
The person was taken to a hospital, where he died from shooting-related injuries. In an email, state investigators told McClatchy News the person who died was 17 years old.

I’m trying t check the list of Things To Not Bring To A Gun Fight. Not seeing “landscaping rocks” yet…
You think the gene pool is being chlorinated, but the morons keeps showing up.
As for the M1 – I’ll take three, please.
GB
It’s no longer a list.
It’s An Encyclopedia of Things to Not Bring To A Gun Fight.
And it’s an “open book” to embellish and add to when new entries and sub-entries are found in the FGS.
There’s a lot in that first story that isn’t being said.
Did the homeowner and perp know each other?
Drug deal gone south?
Unfriendly neighbors?
Hmmmmm…………
No to both. Owner encountered perp on property and asked him to leave. Perp hit owner with a stick and tackled him when tried to run into his house. Owner managed to get back in the house and lock the door. Perp breaks through door with riprap sized rock and takes two to the chest. DRT
Cops had been called to the neighborhood twice on the perp that same day. Dude was either high or mentally ill (or both).
Note: happened in my neighborhood .
Gotta say, ‘Ed picked a good link today to keep Gun Bunny busy down the rabbit hole. Maybe even through WOT Friday FIRST.
He’s knows me too well. Been hopping thru that Linky off and on all morning. Was almost late for my 11th Hour, 11th Day, of the 11th Month Ceremony. Made that and was able to squeeze in some comments and quick dive into FGS Search. The struggle was real. WOT participation depends upon an afternoon ceremony being postponed due to weather. Not to worry, I’ll dive back into that hole later and it’ll be bookmarked.
Two less parasites on society and another item to the list of things NOT to bring to a gunfight. Life is good.
Love him or hate him, if Truman had of listened to Doug back yonder, things might be slightly different today. YMMV
Just in… Warren Beatty being sued for taking advantage of a woman in the early-’70s (no, not Carly Simon):
