Indiana residents fight back, take down would-be robber in apartment break-in, police say
Kokomo, Indiana, police took suspect Marrell Tyler to hospital to treat his injuries
By Peter Aitken | Fox News
A group of Indiana apartment residents beat up a would-be robber and kept him in custody using their own firearms until authorities could arrest him, police said.Kokomo police reported that Marrell Tyler, 18, received multiple facial injuries when he broke into the Annex of Kokomo apartments on Thursday at 3:25 a.m.
Police responded quickly but arrived to find Tyler beat up and held at gunpoint, thanks to the actions of three men who had been inside the first apartment he had entered.
The men told police that Tyler had entered the apartment wearing a ski mask and pointing a gun at them. They jumped him, knocking away the gun and pinning him down.

Check the pic for the author’s idea of “…fight back, take down…” Well played, Peter.
Man armed with knife shot by officer, resident of Easton home grazed by bullet, police say
Massachusetts authorities are investigating a police officer’s shooting of an armed man inside an Easton home that left another person injured.
Easton police Chief Keith Boone said the department received a 911 call shortly after 11:40 p.m. Friday regarding a disturbance at a Central Street home.
When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered a “potentially lethal situation” involving a man who was holding a knife, according to Boone.
Boone said the officers drew their service weapons and one Easton officer fired his weapon at the armed man, striking him with a bullet that ended up grazing another resident.

We all admire initiative, but you still can’t prevail with a knife even if the gunfight comes to you. Through-and-through wound to graze a bystander? Wonder what rounds the law was using that apparently didn’t expand a whole lot. Thanks again for the links, Gun Bunny.

Mr. Tyler really needs to work on his “victim selection skilz”. Looks like the “vics” used a lot of messcara on his facial. Maybe he needs to call the Avon Lady?
Rounds placed center mass are generally stopped by something internally and have less of a chance of passing thru.
Another good example of gun pr0n showing that the proper caliber for getting the job done is .45. Got me lost in that linky, too, Kid Squid. Well played.
Take your foolish rules and shove them up yer azz, you despotic tyrants. I intend to misbehave.
My, my, my at the Raven Haired Little Ms Pew Pew Thang. Lawd hab mercy! Appears that she is holding a real pistol, made of metal, hammer fired, and of a proper caliber, instead of some plasticized abomination. Them Blouse Bunnies look like they’re real too. A Salute to, and a toast of appreciation for, Our Beloved AW1Ed for his choices.
Mr. Tyler even has the gall to wink at the camera…

FBI (yeah I understand the irony) ammunition protocols for performance is fairly straight forward. Expansion is a part of it but they also spec 12 to 18 inches of penetration. Most folks aren’t 18″ thick. In addition to that, ballisticians know from experience that ammunition does not always perform as expected in that some expand properly and others act like ball slugs depending on variations in velocity and what they encounter on impact.
Clothing doesn’t help either, I get it. Just found it an interesting part of the article. Don’t often get a glimpse of real-world ballistic performance as opposed to industry claims. This just reinforces the old saw, “Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice.”
Looks like Marrell Tyler got an educational beat-down administered most judiciously.
Dunno what round the LEO was using, nor where the perp was hit. Even a good expanding round will go through a skinny meth addict – they are not 18″ thick. Would like to see the physician’s report on that one.
Miz PewPew is showing good trigger discipline – but evidently is a southpaw. Worth remembering if going up against her in a gunfight…
