PCSO gives updates on fatal shooting involving deputies, deadly Pueblo West crash

Justin Reutter, The Pueblo Chieftain
A man shot and killed by Pueblo County sheriff’s deputies in Colorado City early Thursday morning had allegedly pointed a gun at deputies and threatened to shoot them before he was shot, Pueblo County Undersheriff David Lucero said Thursday.

The man, who has yet to be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office, had allegedly entered a home on Santa Fe Avenue with a 9-year-old girl and her grandmother inside, Lucero said. The man claimed to be looking for another man, but Lucero said there was no indication anyone by that name was in the area.

Lucero said the homeowner told the suspect to leave the residence and he complied. Deputies arrived at the scene and remained at the home for about 40 minutes but initially were unable to locate the suspect.

At approximately 12:25 a.m., Lucero said the deputies were returning to their vehicles when a man matching the description of the suspect allegedly approached one of the deputies, pulled a handgun and threatened to shoot them.

Florida school police shoot ax-wielding man trying to enter elementary school
Duval County’s superintendent kept parents updated throughout the incident

By Peter Aitken | Fox News
A school police officer in Jacksonville shot an ax-wielding man who tried and failed to enter an elementary school after police caught up with him, and he refused to drop his weapon.

Duval County Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene told News 4 Jax that the incident occurred around 2:48 p.m. on Friday, and Ruth N. Upson Elementary School went into lockdown when the man approached the school. A school safety assistant initially turned the man back and followed him a short distance but did not leave the campus in order to ensure that the school remained secure, Burton told reporters.

“Police officers from the Duval County School Police Department were on the way. As the subject then left the school, he made his way towards a church where he was then encountered by the police officers,” DCPS Police Chief Greg Burton said.

An axe wielding mad man was stopped from entering a freakin’ elementary school by a good guy with a gun, and unsurprisingly the Lame Stream Media can’t be bothered to report it.

Our own Gun Bunny is back and providing links again- thanks.

OK, Big Dog, we can deal with a fugly/fake gun on occasion, but we has to draw the line at a fugly/fake gunz gurlz. I do believe that our IDC SARC hisself would take a hard pass on that one. Hell, “her” (its?) “gun” is prolly bigger than SARC’s. “It’s a trap!” No, it’s a nightmare. I have to ax…DaHell were you thinking?

You tempered the sting/redeemed yourself only slightly by including that drop dead gorgeous DW .357 and that most appropos quote of True Warrior Ethos.

Jealous? Of what?
The girl? The gun?
Or that the girl has the gun and you got neither one?

Welcome back KoB;
One of the guys on the Brink’s shooting team had an inter changeable barrel DW. I remember the Dan Wesson store on Heampstead Turnpike out in Nassau County NY.

Poor dude. All he was doing was, “I was in the school neighborhood, can I axe you a question?”

Dig that Crazy Chick in the pic. No short shorts so we can’t go into the waxed short shorts novelty song by the Royal Teens 1957 on the Power record label. Been played before here.

Great shooting and looking gun albeit ugly muzzle. Sorta like…

All you silly people…looking above the neck. What is wrong with you?

Obviously the home, in Colorado City, was not my son’s home. If it had been, the only thing Pueblo CSO would have needed to do is remove a carcass.
