Sheriff’s deputy shoots man

James Mayse, Messenger-Inquirer, Owensboro, Ky.
A Daviess County sheriff’s deputy shot a man who deputies believe broke into an occupied home Friday morning on U.S. 60 West.

Kentucky State Police reports say Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputy Alex Coomes shot Gregory A. Embry, 39, after Coomes confronted Embry at a home in the 9000 block of U.S. 60 West.

Embry, of the 9300 block of U.S. 60 West, is believed to have caused property damage and to have broken into at least one other home in the neighborhood. He was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

KSP is investigating the shooting.

The incident began with a report of a man “running down the middle of the roadway, screaming, and has a hammer breaking several windows,” a sheriff’s department press releases says.

“Subtle” is not a strong point with Mr. Embry. Thanks again for the links, Gun Bunny.

Mr. Embry made a tool out of himself and got hammered by some lead. Eagarly awaiting the publication of the TAH Coffee Table Book (with illustrations) of what NOT to take to a gunfight.

Xiden & Company have read the Teachings of Aristotle as well as Mao’s Little Red Book.

Nothing says “I Love You” like gifting your Lady one of Messrs Smith & Wesson’s 638s.

The good thing about a TAH Coffee Table Book on what not to bring to a gunfight is that inside is a storage compartment for your gun. Kramerica Industries lives on.

I was looking for something just like that 638 but could only find the 642. The “hammerless” version of the same pistol. Definitely tough to shoot but with laser grips manageable well out past 30 yards. Never did care for the “hog trough” rear sight but it is certainly snag proof. Fortunately there were some without the “hillary hole”.

Just stumbled over this. Weaponsman.com is active, under new management. Hognose passed on in 2017. His family are continuing the blog as a memorial.
