Armed man shot by officer at busy Anchorage intersection after he ignored commands, police say
Anchorage Daily News, Alaska
An armed man involved in an early morning domestic dispute was shot by an Anchorage officer Friday after he pointed a handgun, police said. The man, whose name was not immediately released, had an elementary-school-age child with him at the time, Chief Michael Kerle said during a short briefing at Anchorage Police Department headquarters. The man was expected to survive his injuries.
The suspect and child are related, Kerle said.
The child appeared to be unhurt, police said. No officers were injured during the incident, which took place at the busy intersection of Lake Otis Parkway and Tudor Road.
Police said they responded at about 4:50 a.m. Friday to a report of shots fired inside a residence in the 100 block of Bunnell Street in Northeast Anchorage, according to an update.
Preliminary investigation indicated the suspect fired a shot during a domestic dispute, police said. No one was injured as a result of that shooting.

This could have gone South in so many ways. BZ to the LEO, a proverbial good guy with a gun.

Just, damn. Darwin on aisle 3 for a wet clean-up. A new one, Gun Bunny? Don’t bring a stovepipe to a gun fight.
DA’s office clears police officers in three separate fatal shootings
Daniel Connolly, Memphis Commercial Appeal
In her final weeks as Shelby County District Attorney, outgoing prosecutor Amy Weirich announced Friday afternoon that her office had cleared police officers of criminal charges in three separate fatal shootings. The cases involved these shootings in 2021:
– Antonio Jackson, 26, on Aug. 16. The prosecutor’s office said a Shelby County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant tried to arrest him, and that Jackson hit the lieutenant with his car before the officer fatally shot him. The death led to a vigil and questions from grieving relatives.
An investigative file prepared by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation includes quotes from officers who said they had been following Jackson as part a long-term drug investigation, and hoped to carry out a traffic stop when his car was stationary at an apartment complex.
Deputies said Jackson’s vehicle moved fast, hitting a law enforcement officer so hard he flew into the air. “I landed on the vehicle and at that time I shot at him because I feared for my life,” the unnamed deputy is quoted as saying.
The deputy said he had landed on the vehicle’s windshield when he fired shots. “I was on top of him,” he’s quoted as saying.
Jackson died of a gunshot wound to the chest, an autopsy report says.
A search of the car identified items including a stolen pistol with Jackson’s fingerprint on it, the report says.
The TBI report says the search also recovered suspected drugs — these items later tested positive for drugs including cocaine and fentanyl.

Pretty cut-and-dried shoot, entirely justified. BLM riot in 5, 4, 3…
Today’s Saturday Trifecta is brought to us by our own Gun Bunny.
May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.

AW1Ed. I think I enjoyed your comments between each report as the story itself!!
Love it!
Thanks, sarcasm is another service we provide. Honestly, most just write themselves.

Yet more examples of how not listening and following the nice LEO’s instructions is hazardous to your health.
Teh Stoopid is strong this morning. Except, maybe, that DAs are getting smarter about not busting on LEOs for doing their job. Each of these stories coulda gone under the Dumb Crook News Header.
Another pro tip…don’t take a .40 caliber autoloader with .357 rounds loaded in it to a gun fight. Might find yo’ self in a “jam”.
An escort duty today will take me by a favorite Gun Bunny “Toy” store. There may and or may not be a “wheelie” of some sort that is orphaned and needs a new home. I may exercise my freedom and do what is right by it. Will also help relieve some of the swelling that is in my money clip. The Kimber 1911 Model Custom LW I re-homed this past winter has certainly enjoyed being a part of the Gun Bunny Family. Might even get a few more boxes of freedom seeds. You know…for reasons. My investment Counselor, Roh-Dog is recommending a “buy”. Another 90 day supply of rations arrived this past week. Up to 270 days now.
I kind of get the dehorned hammer, but pairing it with a square butt …huh?
Some 1911 pron.
What IS that container? And where do I buy one!
