Was That an Apology?

| July 24, 2009

“Nixon’s grand mistake was his failure to understand that Americans are forgiving, and if he had admitted error early and apologized to the country, he would have escaped.” Bob Woodward

A really effective apology is usually not a simple task. This is particularly true when the point of the apology is a response to an overt condescension and “stupidly” is condescending.

As difficult as this can be I had no doubt that Obama would hit a homerun with it. After all this man has apologized around the world for events that occurred before he was born. Think about it, you have to be a damn good apologist to apologize to the Germans for kicking their ass in World War II.

Of course the key to a good apology is sincerity and the President truly believes that American Exceptionalism is a myth.

So, why was this “apology” so twisted and flat?

Because it wasn’t sincere. Obama’s first reaction at the press conference was a glimpse into a core value of Black Theology teaching. Twenty years of sitting in the congregation of open racism and anti-Americanism can build these values. Remember the “America is a down right mean country” and “for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country” comments that Michelle Obama said during the campaign? These were not slips, they are at the very core of Black Theology.

So far this incident has taken two days of health reform stumping from the President and if Gates decides he wants a few minutes of fame, it could consume next week. Wouldn’t it be ironic if Reverend Wright indirectly derailed the charge to nationalize medicine?

Mr. Obama, your chickens are coming home to roost!

“America is a down right mean country” M’kay Michelle, you landed a BS job as “diversity coordinator” for the Chicago hospital system making $360,000.00 a year doing God knows what in that capacity.

“for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country” Newsflash, the Constitution and the working stiffs, not the political caste of this country make it great.

“I am truly sorry that you’re offended.”

To paraphrase, I know apologies, and this was no apology. This was a racist, coming to the defense of another racist. Sadly, all the O-nnointed one did was expose his own ignorance and racism. If a black man is involved with the police, it must, no, has to be the fault of the police, when the man involved makes a flaming ass of himself.
So, he went back to, America is a mean country and for the first time, yada yada. Reverend Wright would have been proud of his student.

I’d submit that this is not just “Black Theology,” but a core tenant of liberal/progressive theology. A couple of weeks ago I got into it with some folks on the issue of some armed robberies that have been happening in Atlanta targeting Georgia Tech students. Someone I know tried to blame the armed robberies on the recession. I countered that his thesis has no credibility. I pointed out that the people who are committing those crimes aren’t workers suffering from the recession, but rather are young, black, uneducated gang-bangers. In other words, the type of people who engage in criminality regardless of the state of the general economy because they, young black men without high school educations, ALWAYS have unemployment rates in the teens. I got jumped on by a dozen people calling me a racist. They accused me of trying to conjure up images of the evil young black male villains. What none of them bothered to do was research the crimes. Investigations are underway. Arrests have been made. I wasn’t hypothesizing who was committing those crimes based off of limited information. I knew who had been committing these crimes because I’ve been following the issue of gang crime in Atlanta in the newspaper and in conversation with APD officers. That incident was representative of what happened with Sgt Crowley. He responded to a call for service regarding an armed robbery. The suspects were described as two black males. When the officer arrived on scene, he encountered a black male in the house. Mr. Gates was confronted and asked for identification. Rather than complying with the officer’s lawful investigation, Mr. Gates called the officer a racist and became hostile, refusing to give identification as proof that the house was his residence. If Mr. Gates had complied with that lawful investigation, he would not have been arrested. I’m not suggesting he should have taken on a “yessuh massuh” approach, but he could have at least not been hostile. But no. Immediately, everyone in the liberal establishment from Obama on down, takes this to be a case of a racist officer.… Read more »

The ironic part of this whole incident is that it took place in one of the most liberal cities in MA! And the Police Commisioner, Police Chief, Police Union President…AND THE MAYOR, all support SGT Crowley!

Of course, the BLACK Gov of MA is getting his own racist digs in as well, trying to get some political milage out of this incident just like his DICKtator buddy in the White House is doing!!!!!

I just can’t wait for the 911 tapes to be released, provided someone has the Guts to release them. God help and bless our LOES, they surely need it.

Put the gangsta’s mug shots and arrest records in their faces & watch the willfully blind fools brains melt. When they bring up the bad economy straw man argument, the long stretches of incarceration & gang affiliation kill that mythology.

JuniorAG:

I did. They still called me a racist.

That is the reason why I brought up my story. It isn’t just “Black Theology” that teaches black people, or any minority, are always victims, regardless of the facts. It is an overarching tenant of progressive liberalism. As exhibited by the discussion I had regarding the Georgia Tech armed robberies, and as exhibited by Obama’s initial reaction to the Gates story, their knee-jerk reaction is to cry racism and oppression. They refuse to let the facts get into the way of their narrative of institutional racism.

JuniorAG, you’ll always be wrong, you’ll forever be a racist, at least to the libs. They can’t know the truth, because it destroys the comfy little narrative they’ve created in their minds. They think that people join gangs for “camaraderie and socialization”, rather than because some people are just lazy, bad and corrupt.
We were actually told that by a social worker during training.
