‘Hero’ hot-dog champ reveals how he subdued protester and won Coney Island contest
Joey Chestnut told ‘Fox and Friends’ how he took down a protester and chomped his way to another wiener win

By Kerry J. Byrne | Fox News
Wounded wiener warrior Joey Chestnut reached a new level of all-American fame on Independence Day — and people are still talking about it on Tuesday and likely will be for some time to come.

“He’s a hero,” Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean said Tuesday morning as she welcomed the holiday hot-dog champ during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

Chestnut helped save the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest — a 4th of July spectacle in Coney Island, Brooklyn — when he quickly wrestled a protester to the ground on live national TV.

Man shooting his mother is shot and killed by a neighbor at Texas apartment, cops say

Mitchell Willetts
A man rampaging with a rifle at a Texas apartment complex was shot and killed by a neighbor, according to authorities, and that likely saved a woman’s life.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Highland Cross in north Houston early July 5, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a tweet.

A woman was celebrating the Fourth of July when her son, 22, showed up at the complex behaving erratically, KHOU reported. They left the festivities and went into the mother’s apartment.

A short time later, the son began firing an AK-47 inside the unit, sending rounds flying into nearby apartments, investigators told news outlets. One bullet narrowly missed a teen girl sitting in her kitchen.

Witnesses saw the mother exit the apartment with blood on her face, KRIV reported.

Two people robbing a fireworks stand are shot by armed employee, Texas police say

Aspen Pflughoeft
A fireworks stand worker stopped two accused armed robbers by opening fire on them, Texas police say.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office reported responding to a call about a robbery at approximately 2 a.m. on July 5. According to KVUE and CBS Austin, the robbery took place at a Big-Tex Fireworks stand in North Austin, Texas.

“It was an aggravated robbery,” Kristen Dark, senior public information officer at the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, told McClatchy News.

Two armed suspects robbed the stand, Dark said. However, a stand worker was armed and fired on the suspects, hitting one of them.

Thanks again, Gun Bunny.

It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood. —JAMES MADISON

Problem with these protestors is they just inspire more copycats. Look at these idiots going into museums and gluing themselves to paintings or throwing cake at the Mona Lisa. Then the bar has to be raised for getting more attention, then these events and venues take steps to prevent their stunts, so what’s next? Are they going to start rushing the stage at some elementary school play with their signs for whatever lame/niche cause they want to champion?
I swear it’s like watching millennials on social media copy the latest clickbait trend.

Trying to rob a fireworks stand? Almost as stoopid as trying to rob a gun store. A real bang up experience.

Joey Chestnut – the name alone sounds like a NY/NJ mafioso, instead of a hot dog eating champion.
And what kind of a short bus riding retarded fool protests a pork producing company at an all beef hotdog eating contest? While wearing a Darth Vader mask. Really? GMAFB. I rolled my eyes so hard I saw inside the back of my head.

I always wondered about the “Chestnut” thinking the same. We had a guy who worked for us with a CDL 1 who used to drive semis for US Trucking and then came to work for us in Brink’s. Name was Rocky “Stones” and lived in Little Italy NYC. Used to hang out in a club playing cards from Friday night into Saturday morning so coming back from JFK heading back to the barn, I would drive the truck past his club and he would be out there with a bunch of guys on the sidewalk smoking. He knew people but wasn’t involved in anything not legal. Don’t know if I still have his club business card.

Homeboi shouldn’t have acted like a wiener. Didn’t he think that his being stoopid would catchup to him? Wonder if he’ll relish his time in C Block C? He’ll have plenty of wieners for his bun.. no slaw, but tossed salad and a special sauce. Won’t be the onions making him cry.

BZ to the citizen taking out the trash. “Like a good neighbor…”

Wrong store dumbasses. Your planned robbery blew up on ya.

Got lost in the linky about the Magnificent & Purty Scary Rifles.

Wonder what Mr. Madison thought when he FIRST (ht2 -Dog) heard “We have to pass the bill to see what is in it.”?

Burglary by police?

“Menaced by three intruders, Voratanitkitkul opened fire, fatally wounding one burglar and forcing the other two to flee. Two suspects were later charged with burglary by police. (The Tribune, Chicago, Ill.)”

Yeah. Sister Mary winces and id looking for a wooden ruler to crack over some knuckles.
Edit and re-write for clarity:
“Two suspects were later charged by the police with burglary.”
And I didn’t even go to “journalist” school.

Sixteen and he’s already on a good path!

Good gracious, not so sure that I’d go in that water, in the dark, anymore. But, ya’know… 02:30, a warm summer night, some cheap ass beer, a bag of ice and there ain’t no such thing as the next morning. Until the next morning.

Back in the 50s, going to Biloxi or Pensacola was a vacation in paradise.

Alternately, Galveston. If there are bigger watermelons than they grow in that area, I’ve never seen them.

Ah shucks… there was also Holly Beach.

Sho’do loves me some summertime. Gave up power boating around 2000. Used to budget about $100 for a weekend worth of fuel. Under BidenBucks that would now cost about $700.

What a difference a Delware Doosh makes.
