Kamala at the Coast Guard Commencement

| May 1, 2022

Vice President Kamala Harris

I feel bad for the Coasties but it’s their turn. David sends.

Presidents and vice presidents deliver the keynote addresses at the five different military service academies on a rotating basis. Last year, Harris made history as the first woman to speak at the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Maryland.

The irony. America’s best and brightest being lectured to by that.

Harris to deliver keynote address at Coast Guard commencement

Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver the keynote address during the United States Coast Guard Academy’s Commencement exercises, according to a White House official. The ceremony is scheduled for May 18 in New London, Connecticut.

In a release first obtained by CBS News, Rear Adm. Bill Kelly said the Academy is “honored” to host the vice president.

“This will also be a memorable moment for our graduates before they head out across the country and around the globe to take their places in the fleet,” Kelly said.

Bad year for the Sea Services- PINO Joe speaks, sort of, at Annapolis this year. Thanks, David.

I cringe to think of what that Barking Moonbat will have to offer.

Graybeard

The poor kids.
Is there an “above and beyond the call of duty” recognition for graduating military academy and listening to the likes of her or PINO Joe?

Last year, at the Naval Academy commencement, Kamala said this, “You are electrical engineers who will soon help convert solar and wind energy into power, convert solar and wind energy into combat power, Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled up solar panel, and I am positive she will tell you a solar panel – and so would he.” Why would a Marine be carrying 20 pounds of batteries into combat? Or a solar panel?

Hondo

Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled up solar panel . . .

Kinda depends on whether or not they need power at night/during inclement weather/in deep forest/otherwise don’t have access to sunlight. If they do, they’ll need to carry batteries – whether or not they’re also carrying a solar panel.

Last time I checked, many if not most military operations were 24/7. And some were also conducted in bad weather, deep forest, or under conditions where access to sunlight wasn’t guaranteed.

I’m sure they’ll be about as excited about that as the Troops who ate pizza with Joke Biteme were to be with him!

“Rear Adm. Bill Kelly said the Academy is “honored” to host the vice president.”

Yea, he damned well better say it is an honor. Unless he wants to be encouraged to retire early.

Who remembers this from Ole Brandon’s speech to the Coast Guard last year?

Wonder if Ole Harris’s speech will be worse?

 😉 😎

Hondo

See UpNorth’s comment above. Given her speech last year at USNA, I doubt her speech at Coast Guard Academy this year the will be much better (or make any more sense) than Mr. “Takes Cues from Easter Bunnies’ ” speech there last year.

Students/Cadets/Midshipman could careless what graduation speaker has to say, the shorter the the speech the better.

Deckie

Well look at the bright side, after four years of grueling studies and a speech from Kamala, it can only get better from there, no?

Hondo

Depends. Pretty sure the USS Harvey Milk has slots for Ensigns.

 😂 😂 😂

The irony. America’s best and brightest being lectured to by that.”.. Well, seeing as the Coasties haven’t made the news with drug overdoses or cheating scandals like other academies have recently, this just might be true…

And yeah, Heels Up would be out of her depth in a mud puddle…

What do you mean, the first female to speak at the Naval Academy – are you a biologist?
