Pentagon rolls out ‘equity’ plan

The Department of Defense issued an equity report, aiming to equalize outcomes for employees and partners across racial, sexual and gender lines.
The DOD released its equity report alongside all other departments of President Biden’s administration this week. In the text, the DOD explained a series of procedural changes to better align with the White House’s demands for “equity.”
“While the Department has historically focused on increasing equity within the DOD community, the collective actions described in this plan represent a shift in the Department’s approach and focus to better ensure that we leverage our capabilities to create opportunities for all Americans,” the Department of Defense wrote in its report.
The DOD report offers a series of plans moving forward that “will identify potential barriers that underserved communities and individuals face regarding Federal programs.”
First, the DOD announced it will seek to rearrange its supply chain in order to open up opportunities for underserved communities. It will also bolster a variety of programs aimed at assisting those same communities in the area of military bases, such as American Indian initiatives and environmental efforts.
In February 2021, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered military leaders at all levels of command to facilitate “discussion of the principle that all those who support DOD’s mission deserve an environment free of discrimination, hate and harassment.”
The report continued, “This included a focus on how extremist or dissident ideologies violate the fundamental principles of the Department.”
The DOD went on to note its increased tolerance for military service by transgender soldiers.
“DOD took steps to ensure transgender individuals who wished to serve in the military and could meet the appropriate standards were able to do so openly and free from discrimination,” the report stated.
The DOD also announced it will be making targeted investments into minority communities, committing to “invest in underserved communities and expand access to DoD programs and opportunities by increasing investments in Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and investments in K-12 and K-20 programs.”

I still get a laugh when I tell people that my birth certificate has me classified as “White.” Of course, in those days, there was no “Hispanic/Latino” on the forms so it was either that or American Indian, and I don’t have those features so I’m a white man! Woo-hoo, white privilege!🤣
Nothing new here, except that it’s written down. When SEC Army Fanning (ugh) spoke to my class at Carlisle, he said “you send me a command select list that’s not diverse enough, I’m sending it back.” Sure enough, it was delayed in release and lily-white non-diverse me was definitely not on it. That’s a highly competitive 15-20% cut. Would I have made it, otherwise? I’ll never know. But I’ll always wonder.
That’s some ol’ bullshit. At that level, we should be looking at who’s best qualified not trying to reach some prescribed diversity goal. And I say this as a “minority.” If I don’t have what it takes to serve at that level, so be it. Good of the service and good for the Soldiers should be paramount.
Remember the “old days” in the Army, when everyone was equally “Green”!

They already have policies in place giving preference to woman owned, minority owned, and economic disadvantaged enterprise zones that are set aside contracts for anyone claiming any of the aforementioned categories. This is why the DoD spends $450 for an item they could purchase from CDW for $275. Hell, there was even a software company claiming to a proud (but humble) woman owned business that sold some software to a Marine unit down on Quantico.
“American Indian initiatives.” Hey, White Wolf! We got the bow and arrow contract and the mushroom deal. Whadda we do now?
Back in the day, Hack Stone received an email from a company “owned/operated” by Native American (what used to be called an Alaskan Eskimo). They had some scam contract teaching “motorcycle safety” on Quantico. Did a bid of sleuthing on Al Gore’s Amazing Internet, and Hack found some comments saying that all of major investors are white guys, and they throw a few hundred bucks a month to some Eskimos to qualify as minority owned. Fraud in Federal Contracting. Yeah, it’s hard to believe.
Curious if The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress was involved in this issue? He is the CEO of All-Points Logistics and has been confirmed to use false claims to secure taxpayer-funded, government set-aside contracts based upon his fake Native American claims.
It seems that there is great confusion between the terms equitable and equal, as well as the terms opportunity and outcome. TGFMDD214.
Were I a more of a thinking man, I would almost believe that the White House, the SECDEF, and the cabal of toxic morons, er, the Joint Chiefs have set about to destroy the US military and its combat readiness. But then I’m just a dime a dozen retired LTC so what do I know.
