CMPD chief: Officer shoots person at southwest Charlotte apartment complex

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer shot a man while responding to a 911 call that someone was chasing another person with a gun in southwest Charlotte Wednesday morning, according to Chief Johnny Jennings.

Channel 9 crews arrived at Brown Grier Road at Annabelle Place just after 3:30 a.m. to find a heavy police presence at the Pringle Square Apartments.

In a 5:30 a.m. news conference at the scene, Chief Jennings said officers got the 911 call at 3:20 a.m. for a person who was chasing someone else outside with a gun.

When the police arrived, they found someone at the scene and an officer fired his gun, Jennings said.

It is unclear whether the person he shot was one of the people referenced in the 911 call or someone else, Jennings said. He said only one person — the person shot — was found at the scene.

The person shot was identified as 29-year-old Tabian Ruff.

A neighbor told Channel 9 that she woke up to the voices of police officers outside her window, talking to the person who had just been shot.

Police kill carjacking suspect during shootout in NE ABQ

Matthew Reisen, Albuquerque Journal, N.M.
Officers exchanged gunfire with a carjacking suspect, killing him Wednesday evening near a ditch in Northeast Albuquerque, according to police.

The incident marked the fourth fatal shooting by police or deputies in the Albuquerque area in less than a month, and the fifth time they had exchanged gunfire with a suspect.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said no officers were injured and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He said multiple officers fired in the incident.

He said police responded around 6:30 p.m. to the area of Osuna and Seagull NE after a man was reportedly carjacked at gunpoint. Gallegos said undercover officers working an operation in the area tracked down the carjacking suspect and followed him.

He said soon after, marked police vehicles arrived to take over near Eubank and Spain. Gallegos said the driver got out of the car and fled down a walking path near an arroyo as police gave chase.

“At some point he turned and fired at least one round at officers,” he said.

“The suspect attempted several ways gain entry into the home, including entering through a child’s bedroom window,” Chief Deputy Mason Bynum told News 4.

The homeowner fired, striking the intruder in the head and sending him to a Dothan hospital with what Bynum described to News 4 as life-threatening injuries.

He said there is no indication that the alleged intruder and homeowner are acquaintances.

Doncha just lub a Sunday FGS? Usually multiple dirtbags taken off the streets, some really nice gun pr0n, and a most beautimous Sexy Ms Thang. A nice balance today and it seems as if Sister Golden Haired Surprise has left herself open to, and inviting of, a flank attack. I’d be the FIRST to lead that charge.

More proof that AW1Ed loves us and wants us to be happy!
