“Petty insults” among the shooting causes in D.C.

| January 23, 2022

There are many reasons to why a person could get shot in Washington D.C., and elsewhere. Among the reasons for getting shot is that the shooter felt insulted. Two of the “undercurrents” motivating this event are the inability to manage anger, and the need to “get one’s way”. Tragically, this results in a person pulling a gun out instead of either “walking away” or trying to deconflict the issue.

From Fox News:

Murders over petty insults put the broader public at risk for a variety of reasons. For one, bystanders are endangered, since most homicides are shooting victims, leaving open the threat of a stray bullet.

In addition to the 2021 murder surge in D.C., the city also saw shootings in areas that aren’t usually associated with gun violence.

A 6-year-old girl was killed during a July drive-by shooting. The next night, a shootout between two cars outside Nationals Park, which is frequented by political leaders, including Supreme Court Justices, caused a panicked crowd to flee the baseball stadium.

In June, a stray bullet killed a Peace Corps worker on 14th Street NW — a popular area littered with bars and restaurants, like Le Diplomate, where both President Biden and Vice President Harris have been spotted. That stretch experienced another shooting just weeks later.

Criminologists and local officials don’t know why gunfire has spread to neighborhoods that haven’t typically been associated with violence.

The Nats Park audience experienced the same “panic that some of our neighbors feel every day,” Councilmember Charles Allen, who’s pushed to scale back police funding to expand violence prevention programs, told Fox News.

He pointed out that, unlike that shooting, there were no national headlines after 14 rounds were fired half a block away just days before.

“We can’t ignore the fact that we’ve got neighborhoods that experience gun violence on a routine and regular basis,” Allen said. “We’ve got to be just as concerned about the shooting and the violence that takes place that doesn’t have the spotlight.”

Par for the course. Being “dissed” (disrespected) has long been reason for pullin’ rounds off in the ‘hood.

The Lunatic Progs should look at the diminishing returns-on-investment with military spending as a lens to view social spending. At some point the numbers get so large the advances are indeterminate from costs, and the grift expenditures are easier to hide.

I get ‘it’, stealing from the ‘government’ is a great job, but they will use the bodybags to justify more power. every. single. time.

Especially if the proggie crowd want a war to keep the gov’t gravy train running but it goes badly/too long and they have to “combine military and social spending” (i.e. throw their Free Sh*t followers under the cannon fodder bus) to save their ass.

If we teach people to be “disrespected” at the drop of a hat and teach these same people to “feel” that anything negative that happens to them is not their fault this is one result.

USAFRetired

“disrespected” is that a synonym for “offended”

It would seem to me folks that are “offended” and become “triggered” are just admitting they shouldn’t procure anything that in fact has a trigger as they can’t control their actions.

Yep

just buy them more ammo it culls the herd!

I’d be ok with that if there wasn’t so damn much collateral damage. Might even be profitable. Good to see you Willy!

Top reasons for Murder 101:

  • Drugs/ Money
  • Money/ Drugs
  • Sex
  • Power

Talking shit is well down the list, but lets focus on that. I have never seen a case where the person who tried to kill another over talking shit wasn’t intoxicated on something. So we are back to drugs.

That and proper shooting technique comes in well after gettin’ one’s ire across.

This video clearly shows why so many these feral “pavers” hit bystanders and other non-intended victims.

Self-expressin’ be more important than accuracy!

From watching “The First 48” TV series I have learned that any behavior between pavement predators that can be characterized as “dissin” can lead to a shootout. One form of this is “mean muggin.” This is where one “paver,” as I like to call them, makes a “mean” face at another paver. Also, doing a “lick” (a robbery or burglary) is a primary source of DRT’s and DOT’s. But then most “licks” are seeking drugs/money or other property.

When the herd that is continuing to thin itself stampedes my way, I will help to thin it some more.

Unfortunately that herd reproduces at the same rate as it thins. A constant spin cycle of destruction.

The abortion rate in certain groups has reached 50%…meaning it’s a coin flip as to whether or not they make it out of the womb…

I always thought the upside to Roe was the precipitous drop in murders starting around 1990….in the 70s we were seeing years where 25,000 people were murdered it was half that 20 years later I think due to policing and less kids that no one wanted….it’s a cynical view I realize but there it is…

Nothing helps grow a future criminal like an unwanted, uncared for, and uneducated child…

Throw in the option for a quick buck in the drug trade and the end result is never a benefit to our society…

Take out the police by reducing numbers and funding and a recipe for disaster is right back at our fingertips…

rgr769

Despite being a cynical view, I agree.

At least they didn’t try to blame it on Donald Trump this time. Life has always been dirt cheap in the ‘hood, and now the D-rats are trying to inflict it on everyone else.

Way, way back in my time in a cruiser, I took an assault report on a 11 or 12 year old kid who beat his neighbor girl, age 9. Why, I asked. He responded, “she looked at me funny an I wasn’t gonna put up with that shit”. She hadn’t seen him in two days.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Unfortunately when the only thing someone respects is violence it needs to be visited upon them in sufficient quantity to make an impression, or place them in the grave….one wonders where that 11 or 12 year old is today…another wasted life perhaps.

UpNorth

Odds are he’s in one of the prisons in Ionia, Mi or he’s in one of the cemeteries in Grand Rapids.

Make a sanctuary for gangs, you should expect to see the same behavior as in other gang infested areas.

No idea? I can clue you in, if you like.

“panic that some of our neighbors feel every day,” [said] Councilmember Charles Allen, who’s pushed to scale back police funding to expand violence prevention programs

It sounds like the panic they are feeling every day just might be a problem that you helped create, sir.

He pointed out that, unlike that shooting, there were no national headlines after 14 rounds were fired half a block away just days before.

Very true. Crimes in poor neighborhoods doesn’t get reported. Just like all of the hundreds of black and black shootings every year in Blue Cities across America. Perhaps you should address your complaints about this to your political co-conspirators in the media.
