AFSOC Training Standards

Zero tolerance for criticism, regardless the source. This results in zero leadership flexibility, and negates the ability to handle problems at the lowest possible level. A social media post concerning preferential treatment of a female AFSOC candidate is “bullying and harassment” and must be reviewed by the Air Force’s Inspector General.

AFSOC commander challenges criticism of female Special Tactics trainee

Jim Thompson, Northwest Florida Daily News

HURLBURT FIELD — An anonymous social media post regarding alleged special treatment of a minority female candidate in her effort to become part of the Air Force’s elite Special Tactics forces has prompted a reaction from Lt. Gen. Jim Slife, commander of the Hurlburt Field-headquartered Air Force Special Operations Command, under which Special Tactics units operate.

In a statement issued Thursday, Slife called the post “bullying and harassment” of the candidate with assertions that are ” … either factually incorrect or missing important context which would completely change the perception.”

Additionally, in a Friday memorandum to Special Tactics airmen, Slife called for Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall III to direct the service’s inspector general “to conduct an independent review of the allegations contained in the email,” according to a copy of the memorandum linked to an Air Force Times article on the social media post.

Unless things have changed, in the Navy declare a Drop on Request, or DOR, and one is finished with that training and is mustered out to the Fleet. No do-overs after that.
Fortunately the AFIG review will crush any dissent from the folks expected to ignore realities.

Thanks, David.

It sounds like she quite a few times and got pushed thru a few to many times.

Quite an informative article and the e-mail is most definitely damning of the situation. It sets out the situation and repeated quitting of the program by the candidate who was still pushed through or even given different training to try and satisfy the standard that she quit attempting.

Although now long-since retired, I’d be very interested in hearing what MG John Singlaub would actually have to say about this ‘matter’. Although I’m not a mind-reader, I am fairly confident that most of MG Singlaub’s responses would be succinct, none-too polite and expletive-laden…

USAFRetired

MG Singlaub had his 100th birthday last July. I’d be hearing what he has to say as well.

Poe sent in an article on this lady too. I was able to do a bit of research. There’s an allegation that this has been happening for her since her days at the USAFA. Rumor is that she used a fake ID to buy alcohol and then got caught with some other underage cadets drinking. The males got the boot, but she was allowed to remain.

Morgan Mosby was something to a track star for the Academy. Probably doesn’t hurt that she ticks some other diversity boxes. https://goairforcefalcons.com/sports/track-and-field/roster/morgan-mosby/4627

Roger that Mason. I’ve been Google Fooing her for a good while now, all types of stories and comments of what an entitled special little narc she is…and the checking of several required boxes. No joy on finding a picture (yet). Trying to make up my mind if the good gnrl was banging it (she did go to work for him the other day) or he may be under undue pressure from higher to make sure that a Black Female is the FIRST (ht 2 Roh-Dog) female to complete this course. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with any female (Black, White, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, or Purple) EARNING the right to complete this course, just so long as the standards are the same. Just a reminder: SHE QUIT ON HER OWN FREE WILL!!!!!!! SEVERAL TIMES!!!!!

YMMV

I find the write up interesting. That individual graduated from USAFA in 2013 with the intent to be a pilot. Before entering STT training in 2018 (if these are the same person) what was she doing in the intervening 5 years?

That particular Captain is assigned to the Commanders staff at HQ AFSOC

Green Thumb

“what was she doing in the intervening 5 years?”

Training for Ranger School, of course.

Poetrooper

Ol’ Poe is of the opinion that if she possesses the physical prowess to be a track star, then her quitting the training programs when they are physically and mentally grueling speaks even more poorly of her character and suitability for AFSOC.

Someone who quits because they are simply not physically capable is one thing–quitting just because you’re hurting or tired is an entirely different issue. It’s supposed to hurt–to test your fortitude and your willingness and ability to continue the mission.

CPT Mosby is clearly lacking in that essential character and fortitude necessary to lead in special operations…

“CPT Morgan is clearly lacking in that essential character and fortitude necessary to lead in special operations…”

Spot on Ol’ Poe…and sadly (Am I the only to notice?), her names are from two (2) of the greatest Confederate Cavalry Special Operations Commanders EVAH! ie…Gnrl John Hunt Morgan 2nd KY, CSA, and Colonel John Singleton Mosby, 43rd VA, CSA. Jus’ sayin’

KoB

“CPT Mosby….”

What I noticed about her profile for the track team is all of her accomplishments freshman through junior year. In her senior year her only listed accomplishment is that she was a team captain. That strikes me as very odd.

Sounds like she either banged the right guy or she’s also related to some Politician!

Poetrooper

Be the right gender and minority and you don’t have to bang the right guy.

But her future can be even brighter if she bangs ladies…

Looking at little miss check the block, I’m surprised Lt Gen Slife didn’t through out the racism canard

Green Thumb

I wonder if the pipeline took her to Ranger School?

If so, she would get the year train up course that all women do. Would slow down the pipe line a bit.
