Patricia Cornwall, Delta flight ‘Karen’ charged with assault

There’s a video circulating on the internet showing a woman and a man involved in an altercation. The video shows a limited segment, what appears to be Cornwall telling a man to put his mask on. The verbal altercation escalates until Cornwall strikes at the sitting passenger. The crew manages to get them separated.

According to a federal criminal complaint, which references the widely circulated video, the spat began as she tried to make her way from the restroom to her seat but found a flight attendant with a drink cart blocking her path.
“CORNWALL asked the flight attendant to help her find her seat to which the flight attendant asked CORNWALL to find an open seat until beverage service was complete,” the complaint reads.
RSM told police that Cornwall responded by asking the flight attendant, “What am I, Rosa Parks?”
RSM said he got involved at that point, according to the complaint, telling Cornwall that she “isn’t Black” and that they weren’t on a bus or in Alabama. That’s when the two became involved in a verbal altercation.
“Additional derogatory comments were made by both parties involved,” the complaint reads.
Video shows RSM shouted, “You’ve got your mask down, b—-!”
“Did you call me a b—-?” she replies.
“Yes I did,” he shoots back, a moment before he gets cracked in the mouth.
She allegedly struck RSM in the head with a “closed fist” and spit on him, according to the criminal complaint.
“Now you’re going to jail,” RSM says in the video after the hit, several times, before using the word against her once again.
As flight attendants were restraining her, he also appeared to reach toward her face but did not make contact.
Court records suggest she suffers from anxiety and may not have taken her medicine before the flight.
Florida arrest records also show Cornwall had been arrested just last month on misdemeanor DUI charges in Walton County and released on $1,000 bail. In a court filing asking for a public defender, she indicated that she has no source of income.
She pleaded not guilty in that case, which is still pending. The terms of release in the federal case ban her from consuming any alcohol and bar her from interstate travel via common carrier, with one exception. She is allowed to fly home to Los Angeles, as long as she takes her medication beforehand.
Patricia Cornwall showed up in an episode on “Baywatch” and another one on “Married with Children”. She also made a couple of appearances on Playboy.

In instances like this, the flight attendants shouldn’t have had an opportunity to get involved. The other passengers should have knocked her punk-a$$ down and held her there.

Flew basically that same flight yesterday, Tampa to Atlanta. Everyone was still all a-twitter over this story. None of the 200 people on that 757-200 had any issues with anyone and, per the cutie pie Ms Thang Flight Attendants’ instructions, they all had their face diapers on unless they was snaking or sipping. Pity…I was bored and looking forward to a floor show. Used to make that drive from south of ATL 2 Tampa 6-9 times a year. Took about 6 hours, depending on traffic. Total travel time yesterday was 8+.
And Graybeard, you are correct, IDC SARC or some of the other usual suspects woulda done something to shut her up.
KOB flying has become such a pain in the ass that for me if I can drive there in less than 15 hours there’s no way I’m getting on a plane…I live in Western Massachusetts, flying to DC takes the better part of 5-6 hours after wasting 3 hours in the airport…I can drive there in about the same time, and choose when I stop to take a piss, what food I want to bring along and what music I want to listen to without worrying about the other passengers feelings….
So these days I’m done with flying unless I’m headed more than a 1000 miles from home…
Flying in the 70s was so much fun and flying today is just fucking miserable.
I saw the headline and thinking it was the mystery writer and was really confused.

I first feel compassion and sorrow for the Flight Attendants.
I second feel compassion and sorrow for Cornwell. It is obvious she is struggling with Mental Health issues to include substance abuse.
I third feel compassion for the 80 year old. He could have easily ignored Cornwell if he wanted to. That was his decision to get into a heated spat with someone 29 years younger than him (Cornwell was born in November 1970).
So again, I feel sorry for those Flight Attendants who were doing their jobs..not for the 51 year old Cornwall or the 80 year old “RSM”..

As for me, I really don’t have any sympathy for her, by now she ought to have grown out of her prima donna stage and IMHO in this case she just had to go batshit because others weren’t responding to her manipulation games the way she wanted.
Nothing sadder than an aging woman whose entire existence was based on how she looks on the outside rather than the quality of the human inside…as the looks fade with age the sense of personal value fades with it…
The resulting internal conflict over a life without continued value to the outside world tends to spill over into that outside world in less than flattering ways as we can see in this classic example…
Best lesson I learned from First Sergeant Daniel Norkun was this, “No matter how good she looks to you, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit…” a lesson I failed to learn only once.
