MEDFORD POLICE K-9 HELPS TRACK DOWN SUSPECTS IN ARMED ROBBERY AT 7-ELEVEN
The Medford Police Department said that K-9 ‘Bones” led officers to the three suspects in a backyard.

Police took three young men into custody in the early morning hours on Wednesday after they allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven in Medford, stealing beer and cigarettes before firing a handgun at the clerk.

According to the Medford Police Department, officers responded to a report of “shots fired” at the 7-Eleven at 1723 E McAndrews at 2:19 a.m. While police were still headed to the call, witnesses let them know that the three male suspects ran away headed east.

With the help of police K-9 “Bones,” officers tracked the suspects to a backyard in the 1100-block of Wabash Avenue shortly before 3 a.m.

The investigation found that the three men when into 7-Eleven and stole beer and cigarettes before running away. Medford Police said that when the clerk followed the suspects into the parking lot, one fired several shots toward him. Luckily, no one was hit in the shooting.

After the robbery, the suspects reportedly ran to a home that they had been staying at, which is where Bones found them. Officers were able to recover the stolen items and the handgun used in the shooting, MPD said.

Brevard deputies shot man who pointed flare gun at them
Man is in stable condition after shooting

Deputies with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office shot a man on Tuesday night who pointed a flare gun at them, according to a news release.

Before the deputy-involved shooting, the man told investigators he was armed with a Smith & Wesson handgun, according to the sheriff’s office.

Records show around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday deputies responded to a robbery at the Sunoco on Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island.

Investigators said a gas station employee told deputies a man battered her during the robbery and said he left the area in a small silver SUV.

Deputies said they received a call about a suspicious person armed with a gun at Rotary Park.

Online records show when the deputies got to the park, they saw the man in the SUV.

The man told investigators he was armed with a Smith & Wesson hand gun and started to advance toward the deputies, concealing his hands in a hooded sweatshirt and ignoring commands from deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the man kept advancing and they saw him pull what appeared to be a handgun from his sweatshirt and point it at them.

Multiple people reported Boise mall shooter to police over guns, odd behavior

Nicole Blanchard
On multiple occasions, the perpetrator of last month’s mall shooting in Boise was reported to police when his behavior and open display of a gun made them feel unsafe, emergency dispatch reports show.

According to Ada County Emergency Dispatch records obtained by the Idaho Statesman through a public records request, police received calls about Jacob Bergquist three times in the span of a few months leading up to the fatal mall shooting. Bergquist, who died a day after exchanging gunfire with Boise police officers, shot and killed two people and injured at least four others at the Boise Towne Square mall on Oct. 25.

Previously released records showed Idaho State Police troopers and Boise Police officers were aware of Bergquist, who frequently carried a firearm visibly and promoted his YouTube channel, called Guns N Rodents, where he advocated for felons to be able to legally own firearms.

My own opinion, the street cops would have been delighted to arrest Bergquist, but “leadership” didn’t see a need.
Thanks, David.

A flare gun…..better than a knife, but same rule still applies, “play stoopid games, win stoopid prizes.”

Wilted Willy

We need a few more DRT’s in the morning report, just saying……

KoB

Patience Grasshopper…and stay tuned. A number of us are curry combing the news feeds, for several hours a day, on the hunt for DRTs. They have gotten a little harder to find of late, not because they don’t happen, but more that many news outlets are suppressing self defense stories, they don’t fit the narrative. Others are buried behind a paywall. And some of the stories become a twofer, FGS and Dumb dumbass news. Still others don’t make the time frame cutoff for the next day’s post. Remember, that the Morning Report is required to be at HQs by a certain time. Might not get posted as present for duty til the following day.

I particularly love the K-9, Good Doggy stories myself. Being a dirt digging doggy, of the finest sort, I do want to promote my own kind. Belly rubs and t-bones for K-9 Officer Bones!

Hmmm…seems like we’re edging a tad more to the fugly gunz again. Would that be the Hondo Effect? Or you just want us to appreciate the Sunday Offerings more?

ps…Y’all notice that this post is the FRIDAY Feel Good Stories. You know what that means, dontcha? The KoB (aka THE King of FIRST) may be on escort duty and off the net. Prime opportunity for someone besides that spaced kay-dette Chippy to lay claim to the Coveted EARNED never awarded Title of FIRST on the TAH Friday Weekend Open Thread.

Beer and smokes? Ok, a misdemeanor. But when you pulled out the gun, and used it, you just jumped up to felony. Which will follow you forever. Schools, jobs, loans, everywhere.
Hope it was all worth it for the beer and smokes.
