Police: Man dies after being rammed by squad in Mounds View as shots were fired at deputy

MOUNDS VIEW – A deputy rammed a man with his squad after the sheriff’s office says that man opened fire on the deputy Wednesday morning in a Mounds View, Minnesota neighborhood in an incident that followed a 911 call.

The sheriff’s office says the incident started around 10:40 a.m. when they were called out to a hotel on the 2200 block of Mounds View Boulevard for the report of a domestic assault in which a gun had been fired.

When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect in the case had been last seen near a restaurant south of the hotel. After a search, deputies say they found the man about a mile to the north on the 5200 block of Pinewood Court. As deputies pulled up, the sheriff’s office says the man raised his handgun and fired at the approaching squad. Deputies say bullets struck the squad just above and below the driver’s side of the windshield.

FIRST! Just Kidding. Where’s everybody? You’re LATE d’weeds…give an accounting of yourselves! It’s a glorious Friday with a home run hitting WW grinning trifecta of DRTs. Nice to see that the popo are following that old adage of “bring every weapon to bear.” Friday means another War Hero Story from Mason, the TAH Friday Weekend Open Thread, and a good chance that Pappy, The Stranger will make mention of a new and different flavor of Class VI Supplies for us to sample. Life is good!

Kute Kimber you gots there Mister…even if it is a plasticized abomination of their other works based on the designs of His Most Saintly JMB (Howitzer Be His Name). FTA; “…finely tuned 1911 trigger, which basically set the standard for what a crisp, fantastic pistol trigger can be.” Need I say more?

Sounds like the guy pointing the shotgun at the Police was looking for a fast exit by suicide by Police. I have the Kimber I have the Kin=mber Pro carry compact in .45 and they give you a piece of L shaped spring wire to capture the recoil spring when the gun is field stripped. A few negative replies on a thread that I read about the gun.
