Florida Man Arrested After Biting Off Part of Friend’s Ear in Fight
A Florida man was arrested Thursday after authorities say he bit off part of his friend’s ear during a fight.
James Williams, 45, is facing battery charges after reportedly taking a bite at his friend’s ear at 2:30 a.m. at the Oceans Edge Resort & Marina on Stock Island.
The incident took place as James was on vacation with three friends, when one passed out and he put her in a maintenance wheelbarrow, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reports. The friend group reportedly told police that James began to pour beer on the woman and made fun of her as he brought her to her hotel room. Williams then began to get agressive with his 28-year-old male friend, who reportedly told him he was being disrespectful.
After the woman woke up and tried to help break up the brawl, James pushed both her and his other woman friend.
“Williams then pushed the male victim to the ground and began choking him,” the sheriff’s office said. “The male victim stated that Williams bit part of his ear off while others were trying to separate them.”
While injuries weren’t life-threatening, police found the male victim with part of his ear “missing and still bleeding.” After the attack, Williams left and was found on the property. He’s being charged with aggravated battery, battery by strangulation, and two additional counts of battery.

Cop Calls Backup for ‘Drone’ Following Her Only to Find Out It’s Planet Jupiter
Arookie police officer in Glasgow, Scotland, was recently embarrassed to discover that the “drone” she thought was pursuing her on her way to a shopping center was actually just the planet Jupiter. Local news outlets report that the embarrassing mix-up has become the talk of her station.
The Daily Record reported Saturday that the officer left her station around midnight Tuesday when she first saw the bright light she believed to be a drone. She attempted to “lose the drone” on her way to a local shopping center; however, she failed. Afraid, she eventually called the general complaints number for Police Scotland to report that she was being followed by a drone and “couldn’t lose it.”
The operator working the complaints line told the officer to return to her station where she could meet with a senior officer. So, she did as she was told.
According to police via Daily Record, when she arrived at her station, “she was found standing in the police yard with her hood up trying to hide from the ‘drone’ and pointed out the bright white dot in the sky.” When the senior officer looked up at the light, they realized that the drone she’d been afraid of was actually just Jupiter.
EarthSky claims that Jupiter and Saturn are “nearly at their most glorious this month.” This is because the planets will both reach opposition in August.
Sky at Night Magazine reports that Jupiter will reach opposition on August 19. “Opposition,” the magazine explains, “describes when a planet or other body is in the opposite part of the sky to the Sun.” During this time, a planet is at its closest to Earth, making it appear much larger and much brighter than usual.
As Jupiter makes its way toward opposition, those in the Northern Hemisphere can see it clearly from evening until dawn, as this officer did in Glasgow.
According to the Daily Record, the officer’s mistake is the “talk” of the station. “Nobody can quite believe it,” an anonymous police source told the outlet. “She was very alarmed and spooked that she was being followed by a drone.”
The source continued to say that the officer was “embarrassed” when it was explained to her that the “drone” was simply a planet. Apparently, those at her station are “concerned.”
“This is going to haunt her for years,” they said.
Local reports did not name the officer.

Helicopter Pilot Ticketed for Landing at Dairy Queen to Buy Cake
You simply can’t beat a cold treat on a hot summer day. Stopping by an ice cream parlor for a heaping cone can be about as refreshing as a tall glass of water, but generally, that’s a destination worth walking or driving to—not flying.
Apparently, a Canadian man didn’t get that memo when he decided to visit a Saskatchewan Dairy Queen in his helicopter.
On July 31, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to a parking lot near the Dairy Queen in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. According to the received complaint, a helicopter had landed in the middle of what is described as a “high traffic parking lot,” kicking up dust and debris as it landed. The parking lot—which belonged to the town’s middle and high schools—was reportedly empty when the pilot landed, likely because it was a summer Saturday.
After the chopper landed, a female passenger exited and picked up an ice cream cake from the Dairy Queen.
The whole event was witnessed by the mayor of Tisdale, Al Jellicoe. He jokingly told CBC that he “thought somebody must be hungry,” but eventually decided that it was “probably not the right thing to do.”
Eventually, the RCMP received a complaint about the incident and launched an investigation. They determined that a 34-year-old man from Leroy, Saskatchewan—which is roughly 60 miles from the Tisdale restaurant—was flying the aircraft at the time of the incident. They charged him with one count of dangerous operation of an aircraft on Aug. 11. The man was licensed to fly the aircraft, but is still due in court next month since the landing was non-emergency, and therefore illegal under Canadian law.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened up north. Back in 2009, a pilot set his military-owned CH-146 Griffon helicopter down on a baseball field in Ontario and ordered takeout from an A&W fast food joint. The police were also called out for similar behavior by a Twitter commenter. They posted a video of an RCMP helicopter landing in a field near a takeout restaurant in Alberta, claiming that the occupants landed just to pick up burgers.

To finish the week’s posting, another non-criminal, but painfully stupid. I’ll forgive Her Honor for not knowing the cop’s name, I know she doesn’t give two shits about the police. The chief on the other hand should have taken the time to properly remember his officer. I can’t believe he didn’t think “Ella Fitzgerald” coming out of his mouth the first time didn’t seem wrong.
Mayor Lightfoot, top cop botch slain Chicago cop’s name: ‘Ella Fitzgerald’
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot botched fallen officer Ella French’s name just days after Chicago police superintendent David Brown did the same.
“The horrible tragedy of Ella Frank’s murder,” Lightfoot said during the 2022 budget engagement forum held at Truman College on Thursday.
The flub was criticized by the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, which tweeted on Friday, that “This is one of those times when words really matter.”
The mayor’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment on the matter.
French, 29, was shot and killed on Saturday night during a traffic stop. She is the first officer since 2018 to be killed in the line of duty in the city.
Lightfoot botching her name comes just days after Brown referred to French as “Ella Fitzgerald” twice on Monday.
“The offender who is charged with first degree murder of Ella Fitzgerald,” Brown said at one point during the press conference.
“The gun used in this shooting and this murder of Ella Fitzgerald was illegally possessed,” he said at another point.
Ella Fitzgerald is the name of an award-winning jazz singer who died in 1996.
The flubs come after Lightfoot received an icy greeting from police officers in the city last week, when she visited the hospital where French’s partner is being treated for critical injuries stemming from the shooting. During the visit, more than two dozen officers were seen turning their back on the mayor as she approached them.
“It looked like it had been choreographed,” a source told the Chicago Sun-Times.
The father of the male officer also “excoriated” the Democratic mayor and blamed her for his son’s injuries, according to the outlet.
“In a time of tragedy, emotions run high and that is to be expected,” the mayor’s office told Fox News at the time of the incident.

The mayor of chicago is finding out her reputation is deserved. She really screwed the pooch at the hospital. She had been told that the family if the still living Officer did NOT want her there and she decided to go anyhow. As far as the back turning is concerned, she should not be surprised, she has stabbed the Police Dept in the back many times. She still is blaming them for the increase in crime after she cut their budget and had Officers fleeing the job in droves.
Biting off the ear. Mike Tyson defense? That’s gonna make it difficult to pierce for any earrings.
Florida-man – friends don’t bite off friend’s ears – that’s just NOT how friends should settle their differences. Period. Hope the ‘offended friend’ sues the absolute fuck out ‘em.
And the Lady-cop calling for back-up, because she thought a drone was following her? Probably overwrought and tired. Hopefully, she’s got a great sense of humour and her co-workers don’t prevail too deeply on it.
And then there’s the fuck’n idiotic Canuk that just couldn’t live without his dose of DQ ice-cream cake so he says fuck the Flight reg’s and safety in general and lands his whirlybird in the middle of a ‘high traffic’ parking lot. Dick-head, hope they fine the absolute fuck out of him…
And Chicago’s Uber-mayor Lori Lightfoot’s back in the news? Surprise, surprise, surprise… Ridiculous twot probably couldn’t remember her own name if she didn’t have name-tags sewn into her garments. But the FACT that Mayor-elect Lightfoot could NOT properly recall one of her own fallen police officer’s name – not ONCE but SEVERAL TIMES, is entirely telling(of her state of mind or in this case, a profound lack thereof). This and more, have caused me to come to the belief that Lori Lightfoot could very well be THE poster-child for KoB’s reference of S’crunt…
