NJ Man Tries to Get Through Airport Security With Gun in Belt Buckle

A New Jersey man didn’t make it past airport security on Friday after TSA officials discovered a gun tucked away inside his belt buckle.

The Ridgefield Park man was stopped in Terminal C at Newark-Liberty International Airport at the start of the weekend when officers thought they found a replica gun inside of the large belt buckle.

According to the TSA, a closer inspection proved the gun to be real and “could pop out of its decorate metallic oval frame.” Officials say the New Jersey man claimed he forgot he had the gun and belt buckle tucked away inside of his backpack.

Port Authority Police seized the firearm and arrested the man on weapons charges, TSA officials said. He’s not the only person stopped at the airport this month with a gun.

Officials said a man from Easton, Pennsylvania, was stopped on June 3 with a handgun inside his carry-on bag in Terminal A. He also claimed to have forgotten to be carrying the firearm as he attempted to clear the security checkpoint.

Those arrests bring the total number of firearm arrests at the airport to five for the year, according to the TSA. Eleven firearm stops were made at Newark checkpoints in 2019 and 2020 according to TSA stats.

“Claiming to forget that you have a gun with you is inexcusable,” Thomas Carter, TSA’s Federal Security Director for New Jersey, said in a statement. “If you own a gun you need to know where it is at all times.”

Carter says both men face federal penalties up to “thousands of dollars.”

Man arrested after leaving marijuana in plain view in vehicle

A man faces multiple weapon and drug charges after being arrested Tuesday afternoon.

A Bibb County [Georgia] Sheriff’s Office news release sent Wednesday afternoon said deputies observed a vehicle idling with loud music playing in the parking lot of Lucky’s Food Mart, located at 807 Main Street, around 2:45 Tuesday.

Deputies say they saw a bag of marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 28-year-old Quinterious Javon Byrd, inside the store.

“Byrd attempted to hide a handgun inside the store, but deputies were able to recover it and arrest him without incident,” the release said. “The gun was reported stolen.”

Deputies say they also found Xanax pills and other drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Byrd was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center and is being held on charges of purchasing, possessing or having control of a controlled substance Schedule I or Narcotic in Schedule II, manufacture or possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, or marijuana, near a park or housing project, possession of substances with the intent to use or manufacture Schedule I or II controlled substances, bench warrant for state court, possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies and theft by receiving stolen property.

He’s being held without bond.

Family captures convicted killer lurking in yard, peering in teen’s bedroom window

A convicted killer was arrested after he was videoed peeking into a 17-year-old’s bedroom and into the windows of a family home in Polk County, Florida.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, Santos Pantoja visited the home on 24 May and on 28 May, and was caught on camera.

Sarah Martinez, the victim, said she “saw the man surreptitiously looking into her windows” and went out to confront Pantoja, but he drove away in a truck.

A neighbour then installed a security camera, which videoed Pantoja returning to the home in Aubudndale on 28 May, when he was again confronted.

Pantoja allegedly told a neighbour he was looking for his daughter who was missing, but Ms Martinez contacted the company on his truck, confirming it was Pantoja’s — who had no work in the area.

Ms Martinez then called 911, and Pola [sic] County sheriff’s deputies arrested and charged Pantoja with burglary, possession of burglary tools, stalking, and voyeurism.

Polka [sic] County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a video that Pantoja was “a bad man, he’s already been to state prison on two occasions, once for manslaughter, a lot of burglaries, a lot of grand thefts, on two different occasions”.

“He was prowling around and trying to peep into the window of a 17-year-old child, that’s right. There’s two victims there, mum and the daughter.”

The sheriff said Pantoja was in custody, and that investigations were ongoing, because “how did he know there was a 17-year-old child there?”

Ms Martinez told WFLA-TV, a local TV station, that “Being able to see those videos is chilling” and that her daughter was “scared”,

“You can see there’s a point where he reaches up and pushes on my daughter’s window to see if it’s unlocked, I’m presuming. That is just something that I can’t stop thinking about.”

For mom and daughter in FL……time to arm up, train up, practice at a shooting range, and develop a mindset of shoot for self defense. Oh, and save some money aside to pay for broken/shot through windows.

Claw? Git’r’dun! Nah, no X, M, P, Z, just a four syl-a-babble given name.

Henceforth he will be known as Jail Bird.

Does TSA’s Federal Security Director for New Jersey Thomas Carter think he’s the gun police too? Or some kind of gun priest, ‘Thou shall not lose thy gun, or give it to a buddy who may lose it, or have thy gun stolen because you’ll be bad person’.
As someone who lived in NJ for a minute I speak a little Hellholelander, so I’ve an appropriate response to Captain Father Thomas: Getthefuckouttahere.

Ask David Chippie (Chipman) where HIS (lost) gun is?

Rumor has it the scum that MURDERED Ashli Babbitt has a history of leaving his gun in the powder room.
“F**k up to move up” seems to not just be a truism of the military, but whole of government.

Commissar

Ashli was not murdered. She tried to be the vanguard of a coup attempt.

The only people that victimized her is the grifter and his damn cult propaganda network that brainwashed her into thinking trying to overthrow an election was a “patriotic” act.

Seriously, fuck all you “stolen election” assholes. Her blood is on your hands. You convinced her to she needed to storm the Capitol with your incessant fuckwit nonsense.

You choose to believe that bullshit DESPITE the evidence. You latch onto conspiracy theories and half baked stupid assumption to justify your cult like obedience to a grasping despot.

They were given dozens of opportunities to provide evidence in court. In some cases judges demanded they provide evidence. The claims to the contrary are bullshit.

Which is why most of the lawyers involved are being sanctioned and many will be disbarred.

All they have to do is provide SOME evidence that makes their lawsuit “reasonable”…they can’t even do that. Even when judges demand they do so under penalty of sanctioned for failing to provide a shred of evidence supporting the election lawsuits they filed.

Roh-Dog

Amen. Distinct differences between those who smashed windows, did dirt and those who marched peacefully.

We all should recognize that the proper application of the law, justly or unjustly, will eventually lead us to Liberty. Either by righting those wrongs by a continuum of vectors approximating the absolute form, or by derivative of an ill-legal form being a catalyst for reexamination of our practices, giving cause to alter them.

Screw those riotous mother f**ers, and double F**K the over-reactionary, duty bound law enforcers .

He’s a youth league baseball coach this summer.
His 1st lawyer was from a high ticket DC/McLean Va firm.
But they quit, as they wanted an easy plea deal, although they have nothing to deal with (other than informing),
and the Government holds all the cards (evidence).

Watch PA State Senator Doug Mastriano in the coming months. Mastriano is stumping not only for voting audits, but wants to become the next PA Governor.

And between the buses to DC that Mastriano paid for,
and the handful here already charged
(and more are coming soon),
this will end poorly for most of them.

Roh-Dog

Them being those who rode on the buses?
The people that entered the capitol?
Strictly the rioters?
Mastriano for providing trans, wether or not he knew of this buttfu ks ‘plan’, presuming there was one?

I personally think there should be audits, but I want a disinterested party to handle them. If Mastriano is honorable, he should too.

MarineDad61

Roh-Dog,
NOT those who rode the buses.
THOSE who attacked police, fought over barricades, smashed doors and windows, and those who rummaged the Capitol.

Geez, this needs explaining?
100,000 were fine.
About 900 idiots and knuckleheads are not fine.

Mastriano buses (and the briefing the night before),
had plenty of the incitement rhetoric.
You know, “Pelosi must be stopped”,
and much, much more.

Mastriano quotes before, during, and after January 6 make it clear as to whether he is “honorable” enough to have his own hands on an audit.

And he’ll play “war colonel” to the end, in politics.

I would assume the gun on the buckle is one of those ginormous NAA buckles for their mini revolvers…. probably at least 4″ long. With a belt it would take up almost as much space as a shoe; pretty hard to ‘overlook’ in your bag.

11B-Mailclerk

Dang! That NAA belt-thing is as big as a Rodeo “third-runner-up” buckle!

MustangCryppie

I worked at TSA HQS and this is more common than you think. Many reports were filed when I was on the watch of people “forgetting” they had a gun in their carry on.

The one that I didn’t like were the people arrested at Kennedy or LaGuardia for having a pistol. The person might have been flying from Chicago to Boston, but the plane had to stop in NYC for whatever reason. They picked up their luggage and the next day when they checked in, they of course advised the counter personnel that they had a firearm in their to be checked baggage.

Cops called and person arrested. No questions asked. Pretty messed up if you ask me.

Commissar

Yeah, that is definitely messed up.

11B-Mailclerk

Not stupid “criminal” , but stupid marketing blunder:

https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/black-rifle-coffee-shoot-themselves-in-the-foot/

If accurate, mondo stupid. Are you in business or politics? Shut up so I can shop in Peace.

Commissar

I know it is a stupid criminal that tries to bring guns, ammo, or weapons on a plane…

But if your work requires you carry it is easy to overlook something.

I have realized I had ammunition at the airport before, immediately left the airport and handed it over to a police officer doing traffic enforcement outside so I could catch my flight. Fortunately I realized it before I was in the security line or they would have stopped me trying to leave the security area.

And had a tactical leatherman confiscated by TSA. I was in uniform and the bag was clearly military in nature so they did not treat me like a criminal…but it was pretty cringe and stupid to overlook it.

I never made the mistake of forgetting a firearm because I keep pretty good mental awareness of where it is at all times when I have one with me outside my home. But my bet is most cases of someone bringing a gun into the security area are simple brain lapses and not intentionally criminal.

SFC D

If your work requires you to carry, and you forget you’re carrying, you need to change professions.

Commissar

Nice straw man attempt.

I realize that.

But with tens of thousands of people in jobs like that, traveling frequently…

Then it is a statistical certainty.

And it does not require any criminal intent whatsoever.

SFC D

It’s not a straw man attempt. It is a simply stated fact, something foreign to you. And where exactly did I mention criminal intent? You’re still a fraud.

If we were a sane country, needing less prison would be a good thing.

But for profit prisons have a different agenda entirely.

And we imprison more of our citizens than any country in the world.

Hatchet

YOU’RE A FRAUD. FUCK OFF.

SFC D

Maybe people should commit fewer crimes. I’m no statistician or prison expert (nor are you), but I’m fairy certain that would reduce the prison population. And with you being an avowed socialist, you probably don’t understand that with a low population in a contractor operated prison, they’re losing money. Now, I’m not saying that we need to create new criminals to fill the gap, although I know you’ll claim I did. This is ECON 101. Apparently, you learned it at the AOC level. Fraud. You. Complete.

SFC D

Fairy certain? Fookin’ autocorrect.

We shouldn’t run prisons for profit.

And if we are going to do that we should be using demand side economics, not supply side.

That is basic Econ 101.

Additionally, until this recent pandemic blip, and the upward trend of right wing extremism…climb has been down for decades in the US.

I have no problem with locking up criminals. Particularly violent criminals. We don’t lock up violent criminal enough. Though most prisoners are in prison for violent crimes.

But we have needed sentencing reform for a while and the profitability of prisons should not be a factor whatsoever.

In fact, low level offenders are particularly attractive for profit driven prisons because they cost less to house and require less overhead.

That is a ass-backwards incentive system.

Hatchet

– another contradictory and unsupported statement.

“That is basic Econ 101.”

– WHY is the ‘basic Econ 101’ LARS? Explain?! Big surprise, another unsupported statement..

“climb has been down for decades in the US.”

– antithetical statement.

“I have no problem with locking up criminals. Particularly violent criminals. We don’t lock up violent criminal enough. Though most prisoners are in prison for violent crimes.”

– antithetical and contradictory statement.

“But we have needed sentencing reform for a while and the profitability of prisons should not be a factor whatsoever.”

– a potentially correct statement but unsupported with any actual FACTS.

“In fact, low level offenders are particularly attractive for profit driven prisons because they cost less to house and require less overhead.”

– an opinion with a firm grasp of the obvious.

“That is a ass-backwards incentive system.”

– a statement still NOT supported with any FACTS.
