Police: Man Who Killed Teenage Robbery Suspect Was Defending A Victim
LONG BEACH (CNS) – Authorities determined that a man who shot and killed a 17-year-old alleged robber in Long Beach last month did so in defense of a victim, it was announced today.
Officers arrived at the scene of the shooting and found a mortally wounded Guillermo Mayorga III, of Riverdale, Georgia, in a hotel parking lot in the 3600 block of Santa Fe Avenue about 11:20 p.m. on May 28, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith and the Long Beach Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mayorga had an unidentified accomplice who was also wounded by the gunfire.
The robbery victim, described as a male, was found in a hotel room with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. Paramedics took him to a hospital with stable vital signs.
A preliminary investigation revealed Mayorga attacked his victim in the parking lot while his accomplice joined in the robbery, police said. Mayorga fired multiple rounds from a handgun, striking the robbery victim and his accomplice, who fled on foot.
The fight continued between Mayorga and the robbery victim until a third person — described only as a man — became involved and shot Mayorga, police said. That man then fled the scene.

Somehow or another, Roh-Dog, I get the feeling that Mayo man ain’t really “from” Riverdale GA. Long way from there to LA, and by LA I don’t mean “Lower Alabamy”. Maybe Mayo man honed his motel parking lot skilz in “Reeferdale” GA and then moved his operation to the “Big Time” in CA. Imma thinking drug deal gone bad. And in Mayo Man’s case, it went REAL bad. One less parasite on society.

Quite an impressive story on the .50 cal round. I had heard of the .50 Beowulf, and the .500 Automax, and I guess the M2 uses .50BMG, are there any other .50cal rounds for handguns or are they all just variations for the rifles?
I imagine if I ever got a .50cal handgun it would be like the S&W 4″ barrel with a compensator. Though I do like my .357Magnum with a 6″ barrel…though it is a Ruger GP100 not a S&W.
.50 Action Express was based on a .44mag case blown out to take a .50 slug, yielding a rimless .50 for the Desert Eagle (worlds first crew-served handgun).
Someone did similar to the.45ACP, putting that chunky-monkey-funky .50 cartridge in a 1911.
There are a crap-ton of modern-made flintlocks and caplocks in .50 roundball. (A .490 ball wrapped in a cloth patch) Many can use the .50 sabots and skirted slugs meant for .50 muzzleloader rifles.
S&W has their .500 magnum, if you like crew-served revolvers.
