Brief News From the VA
If you’re getting medical care or prescriptions from the VA’s medical section and you’ve been paying a co-payment, you should get a letter from the VA regarding those copayments.
Don’t toss it out. You may be getting some money refunded.
Per the letter I received:
You will be receiving a refund from the Department of Veterans Affairs, in accordance with Section 8007 of the American Rescue Plan Act, Public Law 117-2, signed March 11, 2021. This refund is for copayments you paid for medical care and pharmacy services received from VA between April 6, 2020 and April 31, 2021. (In my case, it’s $120.00 which will buy a nice pile of groceries.)
– Copayments for medical care and pharmacy service incurred between 4/6/2020 and present will be canceled. You will not be charged copayments for medical care and pharmacy services received through 9/30/2021.
– If you made payments for care covered under the ARP after April 30, 2021, you will receive an additional refund(s) at a later date.
– Most refunds will be processed and sent to you by July 2021.
– If you received care from multiple VA medical centers, you may receive multiple refunds. (You should be keeping all that paperwork, y’know.)
– Refunds will be made by electronic fund transfers (direct deposits) or checks.
The bulk of the copy above is direct quotes. If you’ve paid for your meds or care with a bank card or credit card, that should show up on your statements or in your bank account.
If there is still an amount not reimbursed to your account, the VA wants you to wait until mid-July 2021 to inquire about the remaining refunds. I do hope you’ve hung on to your bank statements and/or the invoices/receipts you’re supposed to get when you deal with the VA medical centers.
Any questions?

The apparently fucked up in reverse and did something worthwhile for their customers.
HEY SNIFFY JOE!!! THERE’S STILL HOPE!! A BUSTED CLOCK IS STILL RIGHT TWICE A DAY AND A BLIND SQUIRREL OCCASIONALLY FINDS A NUT.
I’m not holding my breath. For either one to perform for the benefit of us all.
I know we’re not set up for breaking news but …
” JBSA-Lackland on lockdown after 2 shooters fire toward base
JBSA emergency responders, SAPD searching for 2 gunmen who fled on foot
Sounds like some anti-military retards trying to make a statement and then bailing like the pussies they are, probably “kids”…(as it were, Pantifa)

Oh, good grief, what else is going to happen this week? Thanks for the heads-up, Chip!
After the 2009 Ft Hood shooting (MAJ Hassan), I read the army considered having plainclothes MPs for security. Did that ever occur? Probably made too much sense.
Bank (VA) Error in your favor. Advance to GO and collect $200.00. But don’t spend it yet. They may need to take it back to pay for the wave of illegals needing Chinese Bat Flu Shots.
Hey Ex, Mi’Lady, you gonna pick up cookie fixin’s and ice cream with that windfall? Asking for myself.
Most likely some cheesecake, cut-up chuck beef for a stew with lots of onions in it, and a few other such necessities. Wasn’t expecting a refund, so I won’t go wasting it on frippery.
I am SO looking forward to fall.
“…wasting it on frippery.” Frippery? FRIPPERY?!? DaHell?!? Mi’Lady, I beg your pardon and to differ here. A cookie in each hand is a balanced diet and a scoop (or 2) of Ice Cream over cookies in a bowl balances the roughage of the cookies with needed dairy and carbs. Cookies are proof that God Loves us and wants us to be happy. INDEED!!!
Not even summer yet and you’re hollering for Fall to get here. Whatcha gonna do when there’s a “Hot August Night”? Call Neil Diamond and go catch a Traveling Salvation Show? 😛
If it’s a hot August night, I will play “The Night Chicago Died” until my cat gives me That Look and I have to play something else.
Not “Copacabana”?
Maybe they will just send me some $$ even if I’m not signed up at the VA??? Ya know, just because. Maybe in appreciation for the simple fact that I’ve never cost any of them anything.
OK, OK, one of these days I’m gonna sign up. So far, I just don’t see the advantage of being in yet another data base.
yeah, I got 23 bucks. Followed by an e-mail celebrating Pride Month and gushing about the push for “equity”. I will continue to avoid the VA.
