Unarmed Army Ranger confronts a shotgun-wielding robber during Sunday brunch

Todd South
Staff Sgt. Russell Ruth was hungry one Sunday morning in 2019, so he went to his usual spot, across the street from his Savannah, Georgia, home, to meet some friends for his go-to brunch order — bacon, eggs and grits.

After enlisting out of high school in 2011, Ruth had spent the past eight years serving with 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.

But he’d submitted a flight package and been accepted. In a few short months, he’d trade stripes for warrant officer bars, flying in a helicopter instead of humping with a rucksack.

Nearing noontime on March 24, 2019, Ruth was chatting up his two friends at the Brewer’s Sports Pub and Grill, a local, strip-mall type restaurant where the Pensacola, Florida-native went for meals like these or to watch a game in the heavily adorned eatery for University of Georgia boosters.

Ready to dig into his breakfast, Ruth suddenly heard something from the back of the restaurant, maybe a few dozen feet away from his table.

“I heard a scream in the back. I didn’t know what it was, then I heard another scream,” Ruth told Army Times.

No charges for teen who shot stepfather during domestic dispute

By Shelby Filangi
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — The District Attorney’s Office says a Colorado Springs teenager will not face charges for killing his stepfather.

According to Colorado Springs police, on September 4, 2020, Xavier Montoya, 18, shot and killed his stepfather during a domestic assault.

At the scene, CSPD found Martin Rodriguez-Ramirez dead.

A homicide investigation revealed Rodriguez-Ramirez was drunk and slamming his step-sons head onto concrete. That’s when Montoya shot and killed him.

It is sobering to reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.

If Glock is the gun with a face only a mother could love, Chiappa has brought us the revolver equivalent.

Roger that 11B. This story also lets the scumbags know that it is very dangerous to interrupt a Southern Boy’s bacon, eggs, and grits breakfast. Bet he had some cat headed biscuits on the side. BZ Troop! RLTW!

Good to know that another oxygen stealing POS that likes to beat up on people is DRT…and the kid is rightly getting a walk for doing the community and society as a whole a service.

Damn fugly azz gunz creeping up on us. And here it is, pert near springtime, when a man’s thoughts turn to Love (talking to you OAM), and beautiful gunz like God and His Most Saintly JMB (Howitzer be his name) intended us to have. That thing is so fugly it should be named Hillary…or SanFranNan…or DiFikenstein.

When did TAH run out of good looking guns to showcase on FGS?

AW1Ed seems to have an occasional thing for “Deployment 3” guns.

I believe he also accepts suggestions for such threads.

The Rhino shoots OK but is odd to shoot. You have to learn different procedures than for a normal revolver due to its design. To me the accuracy was average, the supposed recoil reduction was minimal, and the price seemed high for what you got. Not my cup of tea.
