Boomer’s Sunday
It’s time once again, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for Boomer’s Sunday, where I cull through his weekly offering of ‘toons, and pick the best. Honorable Mention goes to my pals Chuck, Gerhart, Woke Infidel, AW1 Scott, AW1 Rod, and our own ARC-TI, President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman, Cameron, Skippy, HMCS(FMF) ret, Poetrooper, Mason, Jeff LPH 3 63-66, thebesig, Keepin’ It Real, and Ex, who also have provided some entertainment. These are mostly from the right, with humor scattered around. I am more than willing to post up differing points of view if they don’t annoy me. Now what could be fairer than that? So here we are, with the ‘toons that may amuse, make you think, or just piss you off.

Thank you! That made my morning!
Wonder when Coca Cola is going to admit that their formula was invented by a…(gasp…pearl clutch)…Confederate Soldier?
Tanks Mates!
No wonder it tastes so damn good…
Very nice. Didn’t know that coke was invented by Johhny Reb. Interesting, and antifa, blm and all the liberals should be aware of that. I wonder what the outcome would be.
Another one of those tid-bits of history that my addled brain is full of Jeff. Linky attached for LTC John S. Pemberton of Knoxville GA. Another famous person from the little burg of Knoxville was a young lady named Joanna Troutman. She sewed the FIRST (ht 2 Sea Dragon) Lone Star Flag for what later became the Republic of Texas and presented those Colors to the Georgia Battalion that marched off to help the Texicans in their fight with Mexico. Most of those men died with Col Fannin at Goliad. Her flag was also the basis for what became the “Bonnie Blue Flag” of Southern people. Google Foo both of these Georgians for more info.

The Bonnie Blue Flag was first associated with the Republic of West Florida in 1810…
Joanna Troutman was born in 1818.
Correct T1B. Miss Troutman’s Flag was white with a blue star and writing on face and reverse side. The West Florida Republic (existed for 74 days) was a shade of blue (no one sure if light or dark blue, no true copy is around). California also had a Lone Star Flag, briefly, white field with a red star. My main point was to tie 2 Georgians from the same area that made their mark, and that Joanna’s Flag Contribution was first one to be declared the National Flag of the Republic of Texas. (8 January 1836)
The taking over of West Florida was based in the ideas of “Manifest Destiny” and was a precursor to the whole “Sea to Shining Sea” idea of the US and to keep any other foreign government from holding. There were some politicians in the US that wanted to occupy and keep the entire area claimed by Mexico after the 1846 War, and even continue on South into Central and South America. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed.
Sorry for the hi-jacking of the Thread, Admin…At least this subject matter is within sight of the “Flag Pole!” (ducks a thrown belaying pin)
I found it to be a fascinating rabbit hole.
Good tangents are far too rare.
Sitting here laughing my ass off! Every one of these is great – thanks a lot for putting a huge smile on this old Shanty Irishman’s mug!!
Gorilla Glue’s new lip care product should be called “Ape Stick”.
Or…since it’s intended for mouthy liberals:
Dipstick…
Fatboy Kim’s picture should end with “er-oh-er.”
Yeah. Why hasn’t the Coronavirus wiped out all the homeless?
When you live on the street you are exposed to
all kinds of stuff. A lot of it leaves you immune
to…..all kinds of stuff.
At least that is the opinion of Dr. Limabeans.
How come it’s okay to say the German Measles but not okay to say the china virus. I wonder why, by Dion and the Belmonts 1958 on Laurie.

Thankyou Beans. I remember listening to Alan Freid playing this while I was putting together a balsa wood model airplane using testors glue and pinning down the wood with pins. Guys in the schoolyard hitting those notes.
