US launches first airstrike under Biden Admin

Thursday, the US launched an airstrike in Syria that targeted Iran-backed militia groups — the first military action taken by the new Biden administration.
Pentagon spox said the strike was in retaliation for a Feb. 15 rocket attack against a US military base at Erbil International Airport in Northern Iraq. A US-led coalition contractor was killed and others wounded, including an American service member.

Biden orders first airstrike: Hits Iran backed militia in response to rocket attacks
At the direction of President Joe Biden, the United States carried out an airstrike Thursday evening in Syria on a structure linked to an Iran-backed militia, according to a statement from the Department of Defense provided to American Military News.
The strike was in response to three different rocket attacks against U.S. and Coalition forces in Iraq last week, aiming to harm the militia’s ability to make future attacks.
“At President Biden’s direction, U.S. military forces earlier this evening conducted airstrikes against infrastructure utilized by Iranian-backed militant groups in eastern Syria. These strikes were authorized in response to recent attacks against American and Coalition personnel in Iraq, and to ongoing threats to those personnel. Specifically, the strikes destroyed multiple facilities located at a border control point used by a number of Iranian-backed militant groups, including Kait’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Kait’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS).
All well and good, but is seems Joe’s handlers neglected to mention any of this to the heir-apparent, and she is not pleased.

I believe the strike was warranted. BUT I also think it’s an old feeb trying to show the American people and the world what a tough guy he is, and that he’s to be taken seriously…..even though he’s really a placating appeaser (a.k.a., loser).
And how about the line from the official statement: “The operation sends an unambiguous message: President Biden will act to protect American and Coalition personnel.”
“President Biden.” NOT the U.S and NOT the U.S. military, but “President Biden.” A truly pathetic POS, just like his former boss. And, of course, the response was “measured” and “proportionate.” Today’s U.S. government and military NEVER EVER executes a devastating, overwhelming, crushing blow. It must ONLY (and ALWAYS) be limited/measured.
I think most of us here remember what “proportionate responses” and “sending messages” got us in SEA.
How about “overwhelming force” to achieve “unconditional surrender” .
Seems to be a winning formula.

Joe’s handlers wanted a specific look- Joe being tough and decisive in the face of an attack. I have no doubt he was thoroughly briefed on their intended response. I find it telling Kamala was left out of the process. Is this administration starting to crumble just two months into the term? Stay tuned.
I think it needed to be done. That being said, his advisors I believe said, “Sir, it’s time to do something, you know, military-like.”
To which he said, “Okay where is Trump right now?”
They said, “No Sir, we mean like Syria. Don’t you think a strike on Syria for the rocket attack back on the 15th would be a good and Presidential thing to do?”
He said, “Um, yea, sure sure just hit em with the um, um, aw hell you know what I mean.’
“Right away Sir!”
So we are left with a good response to a bad event, “At the direction of President Joe Biden”.
