Joe Lied! Georgians cried.

| January 20, 2021

In a classic bait-and-switch, Biden backpedals on his campaign promise to Georgia voters to provide $2000 in COVID relief. Sorry Joe, 1400 does not equal 2000, even for large values of 1400.

Poetrooper sends.

Biden Gets Blasted for His First Official Lie/Broken Promise, Georgians Slam Him For His Betrayal

By Nick Arama

You may remember in the run up to the general election House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) hung up Wuhan coronavirus relief and then tried to blame President Donald Trump for the effect on the economy that was largely due to Democratic lockdowns. Then after the election she basically admitted that now she was in favor of passing the relief because we “now would have a new president,” having achieved her aim.

Then before the Georgia run-offs, President Donald Trump advocated for $2000 checks in relief. Joe Biden and the Democrats promised voters $2000 check in order to try to get people in Georgia to vote for their extremely flawed candidates, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. They went everywhere in Georgia telling folks that voting for Democrats meant a $2000 check.

Biden said “By electing Jon and the reverend, you can make an immediate difference in your own lives and the lives of the people all across this country. Because their election will put an end to the block in Washington on that $2,000 stimulus check. That money that will go out the door immediately to help people who are in trouble.”

Let the buyer’s remorse begin. Read the entire article here: Red State
Thanks Poe.

  2. President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman says:

Pfffftttt. I trust any of them as far as I can throw them.
I haven’t even gotten the second round of “stimulus” yet.

    Away wi’ ye, ye blaggards!

  3. LC says:

I guess I don’t understand this ‘outrage’ – I always figured it was $2000 vs $600, as that was the discussion for a good part of November and December. Then when the $600 checks went out, all of a few days before the special election, the $1400 extra brings it up to $2K.

    • Poetrooper says:

But that’s not the way it was characterized to the Georgia voters–they thought it was an additional $2,000.

Somehow, LC, I see you as being a bit more “outraged” yourself had this been a Trump misrepresentation…

      • Commissar says:

You are so full of shit, Poe.

You are only outraged by this because it is Biden. You don’t even support “socialists”: stimulus payments.

And during four years of the worst presidency in American history you never had a single critical thought about the administration.

Suddenly $600 + $1400 no longer equals $2000 now that Biden is in office.

        • Commie-Tsar says:

I like getting my butthole violated by my socialist overlords… the lies they tell me make me feel so… inconsequential!

        • Ret_25X says:

          Dear Comrade Dumbkopf,

Apparently, your reading comprehension skills are inadequate. The voters in GA were led to believe they would receive an additional $2000, not a “top up” to this figure.

Now you are correct that I did not support stealing from future generations to hand out money today, the reasoning there is likely to complicated for a simple fool like yourself to follow, but I’ll lay it out here:

          1. No shut down was necessary
          2. Stop the shut down and let businesses open and no “stimulus” is necessary.
          3. The entire concept is a fraud based on a canard.

During the worst presidency in American history, Carter also created a fraud recession due to idiotic policies. It’s a democrat thing. The concept that you can steal from some to give to others is like thinking you can make a blanket longer by cutting off some of the bottom and sewing it to the top.

Your problem is that you don’t care what damage is done to other Americans or future generations as long as Uncle Sugar gives you anything to prevent any actual work on your own part.

Stupid and lazy is no way to go through life, but here you are. Proving again that you are indeed–Commissar Dumbkopf.

        • USMC Steve says:

Fuck off, you mindless socialist goober. What it was, was a bribe which is a federal felony. And THIS will be the worst presidency ever in history, eclipsing even that of Homey the Klown.

        • Poetrooper says:

Lars says: “And during four years of the worst presidency in American history you never had a single critical thought about the administration.”

So now you know what my every single thought was, eh, Comrade? What WE now know is what kind of LEO Lars is: Thought Police.

      • LC says:

No, that’s the way a few Georgians in the article claim it was characterized; I’ve got friends there who felt otherwise. To most reasonable people, it was always understood the idea was a total of $2K.

It’s a bit like how if my boss pays me $1K a week, and for whatever reason I didn’t get a paycheck this one, and he tells me I’ll get $2K next week, the reasonable interpretation is he’s making up what is owed to me, not offering $2K, plus the outstanding $1K.

And no, this has nothing to do with Trump or Democrats. It’s basic reading comprehension, irrespective of politics.

        • ArmyATC says:

But what if your boss paid you $1,000 one week and told you he would pay you $2,000 the next week? That week rolls around and you find you’ve been paid $1,000. His response is that he paid you $1,000 last week and $1,000 this week and that equals $2,000. That’s what Biden has done.

          • LC says:

Since the vast majority of the discussion about the $600 vs $2000 happened before the $600 checks were agreed upon, I don’t think that’s the case. Had the $600 checks gone out way before all this began, and Democrats were talking about an additional $2K, that’d be a different story.

Again, I feel this is pointless outrage. That they found a few people angry isn’t surprising, but I’ve got a handful of friends down in Atlanta, and they don’t seem to have interpreted it this way.

        • Poetrooper says:

LC says, “No, that’s the way a few Georgians in the article claim it was characterized…”

Nice try, LC, but that’s what the now disillusioned and angry DEMOCRAT ELECTION WORKER says he went around telling thousands of gullible voters per instructions from party superiors.

And your analogy is equally lame as by the time of the Georgia election the $600 checks had already gone out.

It was typical Democrat election fraud and here you are once again defending it.

          Typically…

          • LC says:

Yes, by the time of the Georgia elections, the $600 checks were agreed to.

But campaigning for the Georgia elections began back in November – from that point until, what, December 30th or so, it was perfectly clear that Democrats (and Trump!) were talking about a stimulus of $2000, and Republicans were talking about $600. And since nobody was talking about two sequential stimulus plans, it’s pretty damn obvious that $1400 on top of the $600 brings the total up to the $2K discussed.

Between late December and January 5th? Sure, maybe a little confusion.

And yes, a (ALL CAPITALS) ‘Democrat Election Worker’ is disillusioned – two, in fact, if I recall. Not sure why you think that’s some ‘gotcha’, as those are who I was referring to. Guess what? They’re angry because they misunderstood what was obvious to seemingly everyone else. No big deal.

Nearly 2.3M people voted for the Democratic candidates in that election; if you can find me even 10% of that -230K- that are now upset because they erroneously thought they’d get the $600 and then $2000, I’ll be utterly shocked.

            • Mason says:

What’s obvious to those who, like most of us here, follow politics and what’s obvious to the masses are two different things. Most people get their news from late night TV and their election information from ads.

People are also used to being lied to and having politicians break promises. While I’d imagine there are likely 10% that are upset about it, they’re unlikely to be upset enough to do anything about it.

              • LC says:

Well, to be specific, I’m sure you could find 10% who want more money – even if the checks were twice as high! – but I honestly don’t think you’d find ten percent who genuinely believed they were getting $2K on top of $600.

Regardless, I hardly think this constitutes the mental gymnastics to defend Biden / election fraud that Poe seems to imply it does.

      • timactual says:

“they thought it was an additional $2,000”

Which is why H.L. Mencken said “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public”. And someone else said “People get the government they deserve”.

    • OldManchu says:

Acting so innocent as usual. People here know how to add. You know that was not the point.

      • LC says:

        Acting so innocent …

Reasonable. That’s the word you’re looking for. Reasonable people understood what was being said.

Does that mean I’m saying those two Democrats in the article who are upset are unreasonable? Yes, yes it does. Sacrilege, I know.

  4. STSC(SW/SS) says:

    Joe Lied.

I’m shocked I tell you, very shocked.

Don’t fret now this the first of many lies to come. For those who have paid attention Joe has been a big liar over 50 years.

  5. Commissar says:

    $600 + $1400 = $2000. The $600 for this stimulus cycle was already authorized.

But at this point I think you know that and are just trolling.

This criticism is also in bad faith because you claim you are against “socialist” policies like stimulus payments,

This is such a contrived controversy it makes the complete lack of criticism of anything Trump did over the last 4 years all the more transparently bullshit.

Personally, pretty much every dime of the stimulus should be going to Main Street and state efforts to combat the virus.

So I support this stimulus package being $2600.

    • Commie-Tsar says:

More shit for me and the Free Shit Army that I lead!!! When do my college loans get “forgiven”?

    • David says:

A contrived controversy. Like Russian collusion, Melania’s choices in clothing, or any of the other made-up brouhahas the Dems have screached about for 4 years.

Oh, and if you are trying to debate someone, “you’re full of shit” is a pretty weak opener.

      • Poetrooper says:

        The Lars method of commenting:

        1) Weak, profanity-laced open.

        2) Multiple, phony, profanity-laced claims.

        3) Weak, profanity-laced close.

Take away the profanity and what’s left, hmm?

  6. Commissar says:

Looking back at Ossoff, Warnock, and Biden statements include the $2000 checks over the last few weeks, particularly the Biden January 4th statement…

It is clear they should fight in congress for an additional $2000, despite the $600.

In Biden’s mind it is about making sure this stimulus cycle has $2000 payments in total…

But their campaign messaging does not make that clear at all and definitely sounds like $2000:checks will go out. Even with a mock-up of $2000 check…

So even though I don’t think Biden lied, I do think people believed, and likely made financial decisions based on the belief, that an additional $2000 was coming.

Trying to get an additional $2000 is not going to be easy. Dems barely control the senate. They can’t afford to lose a single dem.

But at least it will get a vote. And they should demonstrate they are willing to fight for it.

  8. KoB says:

Wish I had a shocked face to put on, but alas, that field is as barren as another field I have. Am glad that I got totally disgusted with seeing the spapos trash every thread/comment on the site on evening last and decided to get snuggly with Miss Lady Friend and watch Angie Harmon on TV. Gave me a chance to delay all of this til a new day.

Where to begin? No secret that I’m in Georgia. I find it odd, still, that the spapos, (3000 miles away, never lived or voted in this state) seems to know more about what’s happening here than the residents. But then again, he knows more about anything than anyone. Don’t believe that? Just ask him he’ll tell you. It will include a tirade of hate filled, vulgarity laced, personal attacks, and screeing about ORANGE MAN BAD with quotes of empirical data that is never produced. But I digress.

The besig did an excellent job of dissecting how the election was stolen, not only National, but the GA State Election. I presented testimony to that effect too, gleaned from personal observations and reports from Compatriots scattered thru-out the State that were monitoring other polling places. For the most part, in the smaller, rural counties where voters know the poll workers, it was done correctly. The Big Steal came from the urban areas of Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah, Albany, and, naturally, Atlanta. These have been demonrat strongholds forever. Even during the great migration to the repub about 20 years ago by the career pols, those areas still went demonrat on a national level. The results of the past National and State Elections did not surprise me one bit. They knew not only how many overall votes they would need to insure the vote went their way, they knew what % of margin of victory they would need to ensure no run off. And yes, the repub guvanator and his lackeys in the Sec State were elected, as career pols, in ’18 because they were the lessor of the evils. This will bite them on the ass in ’22 from 2 directions. The people that are disgusted with what they helped do, and the demonrats that will turn on them.

Again I, digress, but that background is needed. During the Senate run off, as I’ve said here several times, the ads on the TV were CONSTANT. At every commercial break there were at least 4-6 ads, on each of the network stations. AT EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK! 1 from each of the candidates, Kelly, Davy, JonBoi, and The Warlock. The other 2 ads would be 1 from Sniff or Blow promising more giveaways, or from the Donald asking for support to 2 repubs that only gave him lip service support. And yes, Sniff did say specifically, even after the $600 payout, that he would ensure that a $2K check would go to each Georgian that helped elect his chosen 2. They also sent in multitudes of mailers, specifically stating same. An average of 20 phone calls a day with the same. Lady Friend’s cell phone was getting 12-16 texts a day. More than 500 millions of out of state USD was spent on this campaign. And no, the votes didn’t start going their way until the nearly 85% of the vote tally was in.

I was not in favor of the multitudes of giveaways. Yes I know that people were hurting and businesses were being shuttered. There was way yonder too much pork and room for graft in the “stimulus bills” that were passed. Just with all of the proposed giveaways the grubermint is pushing now, Who daphuque is going to pay for all of this?

I’ve missed a few bumps down which I believe were goofs or internet screw ups.
I had one order went through but was cancelled later in an e-mail because it went out of stock while processing but before the automated system said “in stock”.
      Yeah, it’s happening all over.
I’ve talked to a bunch of folks that said “MAYBE” we’ll bet back up and running in the next 6 months because regardless, the manufacturers want the almighty dollar and they’re busting ass to get it despite the political system.
Well see. I have enough to train with and to hold off a small uprising for a little while, at a few hundred yards.
I’ll keep grabbing handfulls as long as it’s not *too* outrageous, like a fucking $1 a round.
      Fuck that noise.

Someone here posted http://www.gunbot.net/ a while ago but I find the front end doesn’t really refresh “in stock only” like it should and also the back end is fucked up as I’ve tried to sign up and also log in to have my own preferences but I get error messages all the time and it has yet to work on that end so….I think I”ll leave it alone unless I have time to play with it an I’ve spend a good part of and up an hour there looking at 22LR, .223, 5.56 and 9mm so…
Going to my favorite range tomorrow to have a sit down with one of their Firearms Sales / Transfers managers *wink*.
I’ve put a serious ass reaming on my credit card but I’m thinking that this qualifies as a family/national emergency and will be back to zero not too long from now.
I just have to get a good safe now and one of the managers at the range said “buy one with double the size it says because if you have scopes and all that, and it says “holds 4-5 rifles” it will be tight if it holds them properly at all, and don’t forget to make sure it’s firesafe”.
Well shit, if my house burns down, (and I’ve had an apartment I was in having secondary fire damage from a neighboring unit fire) I’m getting all new shit anyway. As far as getting a bigger safe, I’m looking at 8 (?) rifle safes?? for the room recommended.

Any suggestions recommendations? I’m hoping to spend less than $400 ish… (“Amazon said”.. I know, I know, I shouldn’t give them my money anymore….I’m working on it.)

      • Skyjumper says:

ChipNASA, as one of my firefighter friends said to me…”put your gun safe in the basement instead of a floor above it, because if you have a house fire, that’s where the safe is going to wind up anyway”. (grin)

Maybe a word or two of advice.
Many safes have a more robust constructed door than what the top and sides are made out of. Bolting it to a wall or floor will help secure it better. My safe (which is well over 500 lbs. empty) is located in a closet and bolted to the wall. With the closet door closed, no one is even aware I have one. Out of sight, out of mind.

        • ChipNASA says:

Yeah, I’m doing that too. I’m limited on closet space but yeah, a door behind a door.
I don’t have a basement but a crawlspace inside the foundation so, yeah, on the dirtpile…LOL.
I’m going to hope I can easily find a stud to screw it into so I’m pretty certain we’ll be ok with it.
Unless everything I have is lost in an “acquaintance’s boat in an accident”…I hear that’s a more frequent occurrence of late…
