This is an issue that had existed, yes, thankfully past tense, in several generations of my own family. On Friday, the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the conviction of Major Nidal M. Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter.
(I am using his rank as that is what is on the decision.)
