SEVERAL SHOTS FIRED INSIDE APARTMENT IN ST. CLOUD FRIDAY
By Nathan Daggett
An investigation is ongoing after several shots were fired inside an apartment complex in St. Cloud on Friday night. The St. Cloud Police Department responded to a call just before 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of East St. Germain for a report of a man threatening other residents in the building with a gun.
The man fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival, but was identified as 39-year-old Michael Walton of St. Cloud.
Four hours later, officers were called back to the same location for a report of shots fired inside of the hallway of the apartment.
The investigation revealed that a 24-year-old man who was a relative of the residents who were threatened with a gun earlier, had come to the building to bring his family to an alternate location.
Walton encountered the man and fired several shots at him. The man returned fire in self-defense and struck Walton, causing a non-life-threatening injury. The man then called police.
Walton fed the area again and was eventually arrested by officers nearby.

Warehouse owner shoots and kills possible trespasser, police say
A man is dead after a business owner claims he was trespassing at a southwest Houston warehouse.
Houston police officers found the man dead just after midnight at the warehouse on South Post Oak near Heatherbrook.
Investigators say the business owner confronted the man, and at some point opened fire.
It is unclear if the suspect was trespassing or possibly attempting to burglarize the location.

“Walton fed the area again……”
Yum! What did he serve? Burgers & fries? Roast beef dinner? BBQ?
Inquiring minds, and all that.
I was figuring that since one of Minnesota’s mascots is the Timberwolves, he was feeding a pack of them (perhaps involuntarily) before police stepped in, saving his life! He should be grateful to the police!
Lord protect me from the protectors and reporters in Houston.
Motive? Burglary? Robbery? Trespassing? Who cares?
The dead dood was where he shouldn’t otta be, at a time when he shouldn’t otta be there.
Ain’t these people never heard of the KISS Principle? Keep It Simple for the Stoopid. And I can’t think of any two more stoopid than the Dead Dood and the Detective.
As for the “reporter” and his editor, Sister Mary needs to take a ruler to their knuckles. I’m on a kindle, so I won’t try to go into details, but this “story” screams to be rewritten for clarity.
Breaking into anything in Houston is a bad idea. We’re all packing heat.
Like the pic of the Home Defense System. Pistol, rifle, shotgun. Well rounded.
The only thing missing is a vorpal sword. 😉😉
Too bad there’s no linky-link, now you’ve released The Gun Bunny to carry on in a frolicksome manner, unhampered and unhindered, to gyre and gimbal in the wabe.
Now, Now ,Now, Tox, I ain’t gonna go all Jabberwocky on ‘Ed. Got my Girl Alice M Thang to handle the light work. Not so sure about this Michael Walton cat. Now Michael Learned, AKA Olivia Walton, back in the day…I’d of clumb that mountain. (She was the only woman that Matt Dillon “did” named “Mike”). It’s obvious from the picture of the home defense trio that ‘Ed has used his considerable SAR Skilz to dive on the sunken boat that we lost during the tornacane, while the quicksand bog was flooding. Don’t think it was from my tragedy, there’s no chainsawbayonet or real hand held artillery piece in the mix. The shottie does look like it went Maverick and has been on ice, man.
Maybe the feed thing on going was the mink feed, since there has been determined to be a FSN for that now. Glad we cleared it up, was concerned that it was a new MRE food made out of mink (mink&muthers?) instead of food for minks. Are we feeding minks so the generals girlfriends can have a new coat when the balloon goes up?
And as far as Sister Mary Grace is concerned, this whole Home Schooling thing has ruined English Composition and she has swapped her ruler and No 2 pencil for a Case of wine and a corkscrew. She’s teaching a class on Day Drinking…in a little big town.

Fear not my beamish boy. Gun Bunny will come galumphing back, just like always.
*grin*
After he “fed”, Walton was caught and is being charged with…get this…”2nd degree Assault. He also is being held on the charges of Felony Threats of Violence and 2nd Degree Assault from the first call.”
MN law makes 2nd degree assault a felony with up to 7 years incarceration.
But why not “2nd degree attempted murder”?
BTW–the article was written by the “Assistant News Director”. This indicates that there are two writers for that rag.
That “rag” is actually a radio station. Their online presence is to support the airwaves.
While I understand the desire to call a student station / informational source a “rag,” it is refreshing to see that St. Cloud University (the home of the radio station) was doing this:
St. Cloud State University students, faculty and staff will be participating in several programs on Veterans Day, a day where we come together to honor and say thank you to the veterans who have served in the United States military.
The St. Cloud State Veterans Resource Center, in partnership with the St. Cloud State Student Veterans Organization and the St. Cloud State Men’s Choir, will present a video on Veterans Day commemorating this important federal holiday:
hear from the leaders of the Student Veterans Organization
listen to a special interview with 101-year-old WWII combat veteran, POW, and survivor of the infamous Bataan Death March – Walt Straka
hear the St. Cloud State Men’s Choir perform a special tribute for St. Cloud State and the surrounding St. Cloud area veterans.
A car parade for veterans of all generations will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the intersection of First Street North and Fifth Avenue North, downtown St. Cloud (starting at Abraham Lincoln Plaza and heading across the bridge on East St. Germain). At 11:30 a.m., the parade will end with a Veterans Memorial Ceremony taking place at Wilson Park where the St. Cloud State Men’s Choir will perform to honor the area veterans.
The St. Cloud State community is encouraged to park along the parade route and waive to these veterans as they drive by in the parade. Remember to say “thank you for your service” or “welcome home” to veterans on this important holiday.
“It is unclear if the suspect was trespassing or possibly attempting to burglarize the location.”
What is clear is that somebody needs to brush up on their communication skills.
That’s what I said.
