You Say You Want a Revolution… Well, You Know….

I’m still trying to figure out how in the hell the idea that we have an “oppressive government” keeps rising in the disgruntled, but NOT disenfranchised, idjits who take it upon themselves to do something stupid…. and then wonder why they’re in jail. (Because they’re STOOPID, that’s why.)

This is hardly the Colonial Period, with the British Crown abusing the good nature of the locals so much with egregious taxes on everything, including printed material like newspapers, that the massacre at the Boston Commons took place in 1770. George III was not a good manager, although some of that might be blamed on his disease.

That took place in 1770, when a foreign government, knowing that it was losing its hold on the American colonies, sent troops in to enforce British laws and add more, including the Tax Stamp Act. And those of us who were taught real history in grade school and high school know how things evolved between 1770 and 1776.

So, two hundred years later, in the 1970s, what was the complaint really about?

Perhaps some of  you have forgotten the Days of Rage in 1969 and the Weathermen, who instigated that crap?  And later on, there was that bunch of LaRouchies who were “gonna roll their tanks down Michigan Avenue” (I think it was supposed to be in Chicago), or some such thing.  So we had both the extreme Left (Weathermen) and extreme Right (LaRouche) sides of the political fence on display there, mostly over imagined wrongs. In the 18^th century, they’d have been exported by the British Crown to Australia and left there on their own.

Or maybe some of you simply weren’t around for the draft protests, the Weathermen blowing up an apartment building in Greenwich Village, and the protests at the Democrat Party convention in 1968 in Chicago.

Since I lived at Quarters K at the Naval Annex at the time the draft protests were going on, it was interesting to watch, from a safe distance, the attempted invasion of the Pentagon by a couple of draft dodgers looking for the Selective Services files, and the subsequent event of the MPs throwing them out on their butts.

But every society has, and will always have, disgruntled do-nothings and ne’er-do-wells like that bunch of meatheads last week, who take it upon themselves to try to destroy a system that really does work, despite its flaws. They talk themselves into being idiots and doing idiotic things, and wonder why they got busted. They exist in every society at every level, and some of them are quite good at stirring the pot, while others are too inept to do anything besides talk themselves into doing something abundantly STOOPID, which those Michigan boneheads did.

They may be, as USMC Steve has observed elsewhere, deadly serious, but none of the rest of us want anything to do with them.

There is no oppressive government, except what exists in the tiny minds of these twits, on both sides of the political fence. The only reason we see so much of the left-wingers is that they’re good at recruiting a few disgruntled dopes to join them. They are attractive to the left-leaning media who don’t realize the sheer stupidity they are watching unfold, and encouraging it to keep going. Nor do they realize the consequences of supporting something like that.  But now, as you may see on YouTube, people are starting to walk away from them and their rhetoric and violence.

Watch this young lady’s video all the way to the end. She has switched from ‘liberal” to “conservative”, and her reasons are given in the video, e.g., some things she’d thought were “correct” (meaning accurate) turned out to not be correct/accurate at all.  She is not alone; there are many others like her quietly slipping away from the so-called liberal side of politics, because it no long means what it should mean.

If laws on the books become overbearing and unreasonable, then We the People have the right to question them and get them repealed. The entire career of legislators revolves around making more and more laws until the shelves full of those law books groan as they near the collapse state. Some of it is necessary, and some of it is ridiculous and should be fuel for a dumpster fire. It is up to us to make sure we get our money’s worth out of our Elected (but certainly not holy) Reps. Period.

How do you get rid of them?  Simple. Vote their silly butts out of office.
